Good morning all. Nice day off yesterday, oldest son came for lunch and took away one of my many salvias, some terracotta saucers and nasturtium seeds. He has a large balcony in his flat in the middle of Birmingham and wants a few plants to brighten up the space.
I then had a couple of hours in the garden tidying up another bed and reorganising my tiny greenhouse.
Raining here once again today but off to work in a minute so not a major issue for me.

Good morning @Debs 64. Hope work is relatively stress free. Have you had any further news about redundancies?

        Happy Spring Equinox everyone!

It's a wet morning on the Fens, but it's not terribly cold. Everything is bursting into life. Have a great day and enjoy the start of Spring (or was that 1st March?)

          Morning all.

I hope there is better luck for your OH today, @lizzie27 , so frustrating when appointments are cancelled.

There were 2 long tailed tits on my fat balls this morning looking from one kitchen window. The other window showed a mouse on the fat balls on the hedge.

Looks sunny again. My back felt a lot better yesterday so I planted a rambling rose on a fence. Today I will plant my last bare root rose, Blush Noisette. Then I have 4 potted roses to plant, 2 shrubs and some plants for dry shade. I will take my time, don't want to upset my back again.

              Good morning all :coffee1:
I slept much better with the admin out of the way … I used to take it in my stride but I think that since having to spend days on hold and filling in forms to sort out the chaos when son was so ill has left me with a sort of automatic anxiety switch when I have such stuff to do. I’m sure it’ll fade in time.

              Anyway, onwards and upwards …

11C and a bit damp here at the moment, but the forecast is for a bit drier and a bit warmer. I have a lasagne to construct this morning for tomorrow’s supper then choir this afternoon.

I’ll call at Wrose on the way back … I’ve a hankering for some fresh fish for tonight’s supper. Son isn’t keen on fish (I blame the parents!) and he is sleeping away tonight … he’s at the BBC Maida Vale studios doing the sound for a performance and interview for a band he works with. Looks like he really is getting his life back a year after the explosion.

Hope your rat person can sort the rats out PDQ @Punkdoc … do you know any Jack Russells you could invite to stay?

@Ladybird4 no further information but at some point they will start the process of interviewing us to decide who goes. I know all of us are looking for work and some are making definite plans I am being rather an ostrich I am afraid this is my time of year to concentrate on my garden all else comes second. I need to try to change my hours soon because youngest daughter has been promoted and will need me to increase my “nanny duties “
Tomorrow is the birthday of my oldest and youngest son, I always think of that as the first day of Spring.

Where are all the people that usually post on this thread ... why have they disappeared ??
I only look in here occasionally, but now the only one I recognize is Redstar.
I welcome all GW members, but why have the GC ones gone away ?

Hello @Michael Hewett … good to meet you … I hope they don’t feel crowded out … I did ask which thread would be the best one to use to say good morning and chatter through the day and I was pointed in this direction.
I suppose it must feel like a bit of an invasion when we all land here at once … hopefully we’ll soon get absorbed into the forum and you’ll hardly notice we’re here. in the meantime we are all incredibly grateful for your kindness and forbearance :love30:

I hope they haven't gone away Michael. Perhaps they are just otherwise busy - I know myself it is rare that I have the chance to look into GC in the morning or indeed during the day.

Good morning everyone. Need I say, yet again, that it is raining here! Apparently we have been promised possible sunny spells for later this afternoon, I may not hold my breath.
It's a pity that you dont live nearer to me @Punkdoc because I could lend you a couple of JR Terrorists who would be delighted to help sort out your ratty problems.
Hope your OH's minor op goes ahead ok today @lizzie27 and that you get time to call at the GC for lunch.
Take it easy with the planting today @Busy-Lizzie you dont want to niggle at your back with too much bending.
Off now to grab some breakfast together with a further browse through this forum that has been so welcoming to us all.

I believe this is a thread that was created for chatting @Dovefromabove (that's why I don't look in on it often - I am not a chatty person) so you're welcome to post comments, but it's strange that none of the 'old' members post here any more.
Maybe as you said they feel a bit crowded out and it will settle back down.

They're can't have all suddenly become busy @Fat Controller, they usually comment several time a day.
Anyway, I rarely look at this thread so it doesn't matter to me. I just find it a bit strange that's all.

                            Hi all

Very wet again, what a surprise, but no signs of rat activity.
I can see the lawn has been Badgered again, and need to go and check for Deer activity, although we have got the white noise generator on again.

Last lot of physio today on my hip replacements.
