For most of the 38 years I've lived here the main problem I've had is with a lack of rain in this part of the country.
I've never had any noticeable moss in my lawn until last summer.
Having done a couple of mows this year it's now obvious that most of the green is moss!

My neighbour has the same problem. He's just bought Viano MO Bacter Organic Lawn Fertiliser & Moss Killer and having read the blurb it seems almost too good to be true.

Has anyone tried it and was it any good?

    Many thanks

Yes, we have just the same problem with all the rain.

Was looking at Westlands Moss Master which seems to be a similar thing, but not many places stocking it ?

Could use the typical Iron Sulphate mixes but you end up with lots of smelly black patches that need raking out.

Cheers @ricky101 I don't want to use iron sulphate as I have a dog and would end up with black stains on the patio etc and as you say I'd need to rake it all out after treatment which I would struggle to do.

I've taken the plunge and just ordered 20Kg Mo Bacter from amazon - at £50 it had better do what it says on the 'tin'!!

Good news for moss owners, not so good for the moss :)

It still has quite a bit of thatch, but that's for another time..

We have had our back garden taken over by moss this past winter, when it never had this problem at all in the previous five years. I thought I was doing something horribly wrong (still might be true), but I'm reassured when others say they've had problems with moss for the first time too. The 18 months from Oct 2022 - April 2024 were the wettest in UK recorded history since the 19th century, which I think has a lot to do with it.

I've tried MO Bacter but it hasn't yet worked that well - I may not be putting enough down...

We used Mo Bactor (always sounds like a Bond villain to me) on our lawn when we moved in and once a couple of years later. Worked a treat
