Hello and good morning/afternoon to all

A plot I don't think so @Ladybird4, he may be turning sausages, but guess who makes the salad, bits and pieces, pudding, fruit salads and so forth. OTOH he has patience, while I would either burn or undercook stuff.

Just been to the hardware store for new screws/bolts for the bench that it is being renovated. So I sneakily found my way to the plant section and bought some more sempervivum. And a bag of seedlings compost. I call that restrained as they had lodsa other attractive stuff.

I wish you all a lovely day.

Oh well done @Coccinella. I really admire your restraint. I think plants just leap into my shopping basket when I am not looking! :)

Just had an email advising me of my bird food delivery. Don't you just love it when you are told it will be (e.g.) between 13:26 and 14:26 - the precision of those minutes really makes me smile.

I have an unusual man … he sees no need to bbq when we have a perfectly good cooker. He likes eating outside on the terrace, but to his mind faffing around with a bbq and risking burnt food (which is known to be carcinogenic) when it’s far simpler to cook food to perfection on the controllable kitchen hob and carry it six paces to the table on the terrace is a waste of time which could be better spent in the studio. He’s quite ‘single minded’ :imphrt:

A man after my own heart @Dovefromabove . I could never see the point in cooking outside when I have a perfectly good kitchen.

We are the same here, why faff about with a BBQ when we have a perfectly good kitchen for cooking food, which can then be taken outside.

Afternoon all. Raining here as usual, so more indoor jobs I think. Hope you all have a good Monday followed by a productive week - if the weather allows.

                    Good afternoon everyone.

It’s been a drizzly, damp morning and looks set to remain that way for most of the day. Another day when the grass can’t be cut.

We’ve got an electric barbecue (if that counts - I suppose it’s not “proper” barbecuing), which gets an occasional outing weather permitting. I think there’s something about the taste of food cooked outdoors that makes it special (not burnt, of course :hapydancsmil:).

Hope you all have a good afternoon and evening.

@Blue arbour. We haven't had a burnt offering yet and like you, my family loves eating outdoors. There are so many of us that it makes eating a much more relaxed affair and when we are in France virtually all our cooking is done outside. Saves on the crumbs too! :)

Ages ago, at the young age of between 18 and 26 I worked the overnight shift at a hospital, from 11PM to 7Am, then would leave to get to morning college classes, then run home to sleep and back to work again. Was able to study at the hospital. That is how I got through college. Worked full time and went to college. BTW---I never think I am doing any company a favor, frankly they don't ever remember or pay back your favor, at least that has been my experience.

We are back home from Daughter 1's.

My OH feels the same about BBQs as your OH @Dovefromabove. He likes casseroles, curries, stir fries, sauces and gravy which aren't really the sort of food that you BBQ.

I hope @Dordogne Damsel manages to get hold of some antibiotics and her chest infection clears up.

Monday morning. 34 degrees now. 9:15Am.
Lots to do this week as I gather things to take down to our Airbnb. I have a blank piece of paper on my office door that get filled in quickly as I think of things to take. Nice to have gone to the Pottery Barn found pretty pillow shams on sale. Have to get to the Restaurant store for a large box of toilet paper, and anything else I think is low over there. List does not include clothes, that is a happen chance pile at the end of the week. We will be there two weeks. But I have a washer and dryer there, and not afraid of the fashion police. When we first got the house ready, that sheet of paper was "really" butcher paper, filled the whole door. As the house contains just about everything. Had a French chef stay there one week, he said the kitchen was wonderfully supplied. I have stayed in various places over the years, I know what I want to see in them, so that is how I did up the kitchen there.
Yesterday was a lovely day with friends at a car show and lunch out at the Cheesecake Factory. Yes, had a wedge of a chocolate cheese cake this time, took it home, had with coffee this morning.
Well, off to whatever. Have a grand day all.
