A huge favourite of mine in my teens … and I still think it’s one of the best love-songs there is.

I actually bought the single … and as that involved a bus journey to the nearest town 12 miles away and spending a huge chunk of my pocket money, that was a big thing indeed.

I think many folk believe Harry Nilsson wrote #Without You @pete , but of course - he didn't.

I loved Nilsson, but it's a bit like Steve Harley, a lot of people only know that song. He was a bit of a 'character' , and hugely talented, but rather complex.

I think he died a couple of weeks ago but I can't remember his name.

Remember everybody's talking at me.

 

Both of the writers [Badfinger] committed suicide a long time ago.

 

I met Frankie (Francesco Stephen Castelluccio_ in the early70s when he asked me for a light backstage, so we sat on the floor and had a cigarette together before he went on stage. Those were the days.

 

I'm obviously thinking of someone else.

 

For some reason I mixed up these two songs.
