Listening to the parakeets screech! They go quiet when the red kits are about but otherwise a nuisance, if pretty.
The council started getting peregrine falcons to nest in the town centre so I'm hoping they make a dent in the green perils!

Nothing outside that's for sure....it's torrential here. Will finally get round to sowing veg and flower seeds in the utility room, though :hapydancsmil:

The parakeets are a pest where I live in Sheffield, they squark like mad and are constantly flying around my garden. Wouldn't be surprised if they have taken over all the nesting holes in trees preventing woodpeckers from nesting there.

I will be planting a Camellia I bought at the weekend. Its Nuccio's Cameo and will hopefully do better than the last Camellia I had which I killed, twice! Once by planting in a small pot with compost, then again when I tried to plant it in the ground, only to learn that my soil is alkaline
This one is going into a large pot, with JI3 and ericaceous, so will hopefully do a lot better!

I may also pot up my dahlias. Can't decide if it's warm enough yet

We don't have any here, luckily @LeadFarmer, and I hope it stays like that.

I have just planted some Tigridia bulbs, they won't be hardy here, but still very cheap as annuals.

Just doing a bit more digging on the ever shrinking veg patch before the rain comes.

I have nearly filled my second compost bin with kitchen stuff and have fed and watered some houseplants, succulents and cacti.
I'm trying to sit down and look more at my garden and enjoy the Spring flowers etc , with a cuppa. I don't do this often enough.
I can't imagine screeching parakeets and thankfully don't have any here. the Crows and rooks that live and nest in nearby trees are bad enough!

I just spent half an hour trying to decide whether to cut the front lawn or whether it was going to rain. Just as I decided I'd do it tomorrow, it rained, so now I feel smug, although I really want to do the second cut as it's growing fast. This morning I was ready to put the patio umbrella up and sit outside in the warm sunshine.. flippin' freezing now!

Spent this morning re-edging the grass path that runs alongside my privet hedge..

And did some general weeding, mulching and tidying...

Continuing to remove things I want to take with me as we will be moving in early May. Pulled out my two cobbled together "urns" after five years in the ground it took a bit of effort to get them out :rolleyespink:

Finally got round to cutting the grass, so that makes things instantly look better. Then as it started raining, we retreated to the greenhouse and started potting and sowing. Today it was sowing tomatoes (Maskotka & Ailsa Craig), coleus, yellow loostrife.. potted up five bareroot roses, trailing begonias, upright begonias, Asiatic lilies & Oriental lillies.

I am still tidying up after winter. It has been so wet here I have to duck out between showers to cut back the dead perennial stems from last season
@Bluejayway, you have given me some inspiration. I have never sown Stocks before so I am always willing to give new plants a try.
