So sorry, @PatE and @lizzie27, wishing you courage to get through this.
A really good rest should speed up your recovery, @Dordogne Damsel, so make the most of it.

No gardening today, it’s still soggy out, and it’s our wedding anniversary, so we will take a day off from routine stuff. Can’t believe 53 years have gone by, it was very sunny that day, but pretty cold. I had a warm vest on under my wedding dress!

I will have to spend some time today trying to set up my new iPad. Had a go last night, but kept hitting a dead end. Spent last night trying to read the instructions, and then found some helpful videos on line, so I think I know what I was doing wrong. My current one has a sticky home button, and it is so old and clunky that many websites I like tell me they don’t support me! How unkind!

Making the most of the relative peace before the schools break up. It’ll be bedlam down here for the next few weeks, the roads will be busy and the seafront crowded, although if we get out early enough, it’s not too bad for an hour or two.
I swear the seagulls can recognise tourists! Don’t usually bother the locals, who are aware of their naughty habits, but they’ll be perched on the street lights and rooftops, waiting to snaffle an ice cream or pinch a few chips ( or the entire pack) I do love to hear them though, wouldn’t be the seaside without them. ( Although they were pretty raucous in central Bath!)

Not sure where to post this, couldn't find a thread for upcycling.

Briefly, we have to replace the dishwasher after a sterling service of 17 years. I have already put the cutlery basket to use, is there anything I could do in the shed with the two white, ugly, big plastic drawers? Worth keeping?

Happy Wedding Anniversary @Ergates, enjoy your special day.

Love a good puzzle for upcycling things. Presumably @Coccinella you could cut the plastic draws quite easily. Could they be formed to make racks for inside kitchen cupboards to hold lids? Cut up and shaped to make supports for tall plants like dahlias?

There are some great ideas on this Pinterest page https://www.pinterest.co.uk/LiviaDesigns/dishwasher-rack-uses/

Morning all! Just sitting and perusing with a coffee. No gardening today....it's been raining hard and threatens to do so again, so too soggy, which is probably just as well. Off to the osteopath in a bit to get my baddy shoulder treated.....so ice pack at the ready for later...
It's our 49th wedding anniversary and we're pushing the boat out with an M&S meal deal tonight! We do know how to live the high life! :ccheers:

                Good morning everyone.

My back is in bits this morning! Must be from the gardening on Sunday I suppose. I hope I can sit in the hairdresser’s chair ok later as I’ve booked a cut and blow dry. I’ve been too busy to find the time for haircuts recently plus it’s pretty ££ these days! In the pandemic years, I had a few home cuts, and in work we used to do trims for each other!

I hope everyone is having a good day.

@Bluejayway I, too, like to hear the sound of seagulls. We do get them around here when all the field ploughing is going on and I can pretend I'm beside the sea!

I'm so sorry @PatE and @lizzie27 you are going through such heartbreaking times with your families.
Happy Anniversaries to @Ergates and @KayJ. May your celebrations be joyful.

Commiserations to those with aching backs and joints-hope there is some light relief for you soon.

This morning I've been shopping for fruit and veg mainly, but treated myself to a couple of packets of Cosmos seeds. Buying plants and seeds bring more joy for me than clothes or chocolate!

Repeating this fine paragraph. Just an added information, an Urinary Track Infection of an elderly person does look like "confusion".

Wednesday 8:34 Am, 41 degrees, little overcast heard its suppose to rain.
Either way, always can find something to keep myself busy, inside or outside the house. Tomorrow a Grand Opening of a large Grocery Outlet place, 2 min drive from me, been watching it for months as they prepare, used up a huge corner of the building. The landlord must be thrilled. They have already sent out $5.00 off coupons to use. And that my exciting life, LOL. Anyway, Chess Club, won one game, lost one game. I really should play chess online to get better. Some folks there say they play for 2 hours daily, me once a week.

And it is noted, the prior GC of this group, before the New folks arrived still have not returned.
                              Have a grand day all.
