Not sure whether I am allowed to mention gardens outside the UK so please delete if not.
We visited this garden on our way to where we were staying 2 years ago. An amazing garden and full of surprises. What we thought would be a quick visit lasted over 3 hours (did include the tea and cake though in their lovely cafe).

Whereabouts is it, On The Levels? There are quite a few lovely gardens scattered around France. One of the most remarkable is near Dieppe on the north coast. Le Vasterival. Vasterival – Un jardin de passions

Les Jardins de Séricourt, jardins contemporains remarquables It looks an interesting garden @On the Levels, quite a bit of funny topiary.

We sometimes take the ferry from Dieppe but it's a long drive from Dordogne, maybe one day we'll make time to visit Vasterival @noisette47. Thank you for the information.

We mostly visit English gardens and OH's cottage isn't that far from Bressingham Gardens in Norfolk. We'll be going there in May when my son and family visit us in Norfolk. They live in Dordogne, as do I. Maybe I'll post some photos here then.

Do you ever get to East Ruston Old Vicarage, @Busy-Lizzie? Quite simply the best garden in England, IMVHO...:)

Yes @noisette47 I've been there, East Ruston Old Vicarage 2 or 3 times and met and chatted with the owners. It's a lovely garden, different characters in different areas.

We once did instead of a Tour de France Cycling race we did a Tour de France des Jardins. We went to some amazing places and also stayed in some superb places. None booked. We just went and visited. Brilliant.

Our French tours went something like that, but seemed to end up at vineyards and liqueur-producing monasteries :roflol:
