Good afternoon everyone. We are expecting our son to arrive in the next hour. Lots of food cooked by Hubby, so he should sleep well tonight. It’s 5 pm here.

Our son and his team have been photographing a bike race from Jindabyne to various other mountainous sites today. He said, when he rang to alert us that they’d finished for the day, that it had ranged from hot and sunny to freezing cold where they were stationed. I think he will be glad to flop.

Hope he enjoys a good sleep @PatE , it sounds as though he deserves it after the day he has had. Was Pixel pleased to see him?
Not done much today as several heavy rain showers arrived with a really biting wind, burr! Got daughter to run me down to the local shop for my usual Saturday visit as I really didn't feel up to driving myself. So glad I did because we must have met some ten vehicles on our narrow twisting lane, all driving too fast in my opinion as we nearly ended up in the ditch twice. Usually we can drive our road without seeing a vehicle for weeks on end, so no idea where they were all going, must have been something happening further on up the mountain past us. Someone at the shop said that there was a tractor drive going on in aid of a charity somewhere so perhaps it was that.

Our son has just left to go home to Canberra. He said that he had a good sleep. Pixel kept moving away in case he grabbed her to go back with him. I told her not to worry, but he still thinks he might find himself back to his lonely days.

as far as we’re concerned, she’s here to stay. .

it’s been cold so far this morning and Hubby had the air con on warm going when I emerged, but since son left, we’ve turned it off.

Good thing you got your daughter to do the driving @Anna42 … too much traffic on those roads can lead to problems, particularly when the drivers don’t know the road.

Glad your son had a much needed rest @PatE … it doesn’t seem five minutes since yiu were showing us pictures of your first spring flowers … and now your autumn is arriving. Doesn’t time fly :)

He’s home, after a detour to Costco to get a refill of petrol, plus food, before going home. I’d say he’s asleep by now. I don’t think we’ll be long after him.

Hello @PatE. We are OK thanks, apart from my backache and the never ending rain. We are in France at the moment. I hope you are both OK.
See you on the Wakey Wakey thread. Sometimes I have trouble finding it but it's usually on my Alerts.
