I've been aware for a while there was a fox visiting my garden - lots of digging and occasional poops. A couple of times I spotted it crossing at the bottom - always around lunchtime -
and got up to chase it under the impression it was a giant ginger cat ...

Last Wednesday lunchtime I'd been doing a bit of work in the front garden, came back into the house and looked out the back window as I always do, to see if there's any interesting birds. I was just in time to catch the fox nicking the apple I put out for the blackbirds! It then stayed a while seeming very much at home. In some of the pictures you can see the teats - a vixen then, that must have cubs somewhere nearby. In that case I won't begrudge her the blackbird's food!

I feed mine on raw sausages, the male comes around late afternoon usually.

She was back today looking very soggy. Only had time to get one shot before she was off. 2024-03-28_10-59-40.jpg

More photos - Mum again, distinctive scar on her nose. Showed up around 6pm and stayed a good while, cleaning up every last calciworm from the grass and eating the apple pieces too.

Actually on looking closer at the photos I've realised it's Mum again. She has a distinctive scar on her nose. She does look very puppy like in some of the pictures though.

Me too! I was convinced it was a cub for a while there. I think she looks smaller because she is wet.

I think cubs would still be quite small at this time of year.
