The weather was a touch unsettled... When we came to leave we had to get the gates unlocked, I've never been locked in a castle before! :paladin:

      Hello and good morning all

It's raining. It's pouring. Well, I have my aquagym this morning so at least I will be warm. Nothing planned for the day, no gardening of course. I wonder what @Punkdoc bought at the garden centre. That is a very healthy breakfast @pattie, and on a Bank Holiday, if you are in the UK.
So I shall put my cosy on and perhaps see you all in the afternoon. Be safe.

I'm pleased it is sunny as there is a big cycle race starting from our village hall. I always do the early openings at the hall so I felt a bit sorry for the cyclists at 6.30 a.m. standing out there in a cool :rolleyespink: breeze and not too many clothes waiting for the start. I was wrapped up warmly in my fleece lined coat :heehee:.

We used to have quite a lot of early cycle races pre covid but they rarely have them now. Maybe they will start up again this summer.

Next early booking so far scheduled is for the local elections. They have a very long day of it. They have to set up the hall from 6 a.m. and don't finish until 10 p.m. Our booking secretary is pleased that I volunteer to do all the early openings as I usually wake the Lark up :roflol::psnp:

You should have asked me about it. I was born in a castle! :blue thumb:

              Morning all.

I had thought of going to the weekly market but it's raining so maybe not. I'll see what it's doing after breakfast.

My back is still aching though I haven't done anything strenuous over the last few days. There is a lot that I want to do in the garden but it's just too wet. My new roses are in puddles.

I've not been locked in a castle, but have been locked in the Great Pyramid of Giza once, swear it's the nearest I've ever come to having a heart attack, but that's another story.

Morning everyone, sunny day so far, but I don't think it's for long.

Enjoy your Good Friday and hot cross buns, we've got a nice salmon for dinner x

@Busy-Lizzie when I put my back out whilst gardening (about 18 months ago) it ached even if I’d done nothing. Went to an osteopath who tied me in knots until something clicked into place, and I was then sorted, Maybe worth a try.

Off to Southampton to collect my Dad today, and one Chicklet is on her way home too.

At last the weather seems to be fair for the next few days - but guests so no gardening for me. I am soooooo behind

Hi everyone. It’s been another dry day so we don’t know what else to expect for the rest of Easter.

We had some lovely red fish with white sauce. (Another beauty from Aldi).

There’s not much exciting stuff of TV tonight, but I’m sure we’ll find something.

Best wishes to everyone for the rest of Easter.

When we visited the Great Pyramid @Jenny_Aster, I remember going down some quite steep stone steps at one stage and then they turned the lights out. My young nephew who was about 10 or 11 at the time created merry hell and the lights got turned on very quickly. He was not impressed. The guides and the local police, galloping around on camels manage to keep the hawkers at bay when we finally emerged.

That's quite similar to me, I thought my husband was with me. I was studying something on a wall, and didn't notice that he'd joined a party that was leaving. All of a sudden I was all alone in the deathly quiet :yikes:. I made for those wooden stairs and if there was a mummy chasing me, I couldn't have run any faster up them. Got to the top in quite a state, my heart must have been fit to burst. But my pride wouldn't let the security guards see I was in a state, I emerged into the daylight with a pretty smile, despite my heart nearly popping out of my chest. My husband got such a wigging for leaving me behind. I'll never forget that, the lights going out must have been traumatic for your nephew though. Another weird thing that happened on that trip, we were in Cairo museum, both John and I for some reason were inspecting a stuffed monkey in a glass case, when it's tail fell off. Think I was glad to get home! (I've got too much imagination :heehee:)

It's actually a bright start here. We have a busy day as usual! Firstly a trip to see MIL in the care home and taking our eldest with us as he is staying here for a few days. OH is then off to watch Norwich City play with younger son and grandson and I have a lot to do here. Had a shock yesterday, looked out and saw a hawk right on the top of our bay tree eating what looked like a magpie. I assume it caught the magpie on the tree or could it have carried it up there!

                            Hi all

Starting the day with a sausage sandwich, yum yum, better than my usual grapes.

Morning all! Cloudy here, but not raining. Been getting on with some indoor chores while things outside dry up after yesterday afternoon/evening's rain.
