        The original post was from a beekeeper in Worcestershire. It was posted on June 10, 2021 and contained a photo of the hedge. I’m fairly confident it is genuine.

        But the picture is of a white-tailed bumblebee, I'm pretty sure they don't swarm.

          Very sad, and I can well believe it. Some folks have no sense.
          We had a swarm in our hedge a couple of years ago and they only stayed a couple of days then off to find somewhere to set up home.

            I would think there is an element of truth, not everything is made up on facebook, depends if it was in a group or just some random post.

            Some people really don't understand wildlife, must admit on the couple of occasions I have come across bee swarms they are intimidating, the noise tends to put you off doing anything to them or getting too close.

            But I've seen kids stamping on tiny frogs as they have just left the ponds, and they think its fun, so I wouldn't put anything past what they will do.
