            Hi @Jiffy

I use an old Canon 7D with a just as old Canon 100mmf2.8 USM Macro lens.

Also, I use a Raynox DCR-150 close up lens, which screws onto the 100mm lens allowing for greater magnification without any loss of quality.

Sounds like a plan @Jiffy lots of options out there, from good Bridge cameras to bargain, second hand DSLRs and lenses.

Lovely images @Sheps. I could say "top drawer" but as that's where I keep my pants, maybe not.

They look quite sharp. What size images did you upload?

Ey up pal...probably about 1000px on the longest side and about 500kb because you don't really need much more for web presentation but, once the sites image compression grabs them so much detail is lost, very similar to the other site we used to use.

Original images at the same size are pin sharp and you can see every grain of pollen.

Yep, same here but I was just checking you've not discovered some secret. I think the issue is the site's resizing to fit the frame of the screen. It usually has to magnify them to make them bigger depending on the screen resolution of the viewer. On my screen (set to 3200 px wide) the site more-or-less doubles the size of the image I've uploaded. I think this is known in the trade as 'interpolation' and is inherently 'lossy' because it has to introduce more pixels where there aren't any. But I can still see those pollen grains clearly :)

A few more from this morning, not the best conditions being cloudy, blustery and raining, but still good to be out there.

Used the 70-200mmf4LIS lens this time.

Can't get my head around why Portrait orientation images are being resized to a width of 375px when the page will accept a width of 800px in Landscape orientation?

Lovely photos @Sheps . If it's the Canon, my partner has the same lens, she loves it. I leave the ' proper ' photography to her, I spend most of the time taking phone pics of Floss
