Have an IKEA about hour from me. I do like the household/kitchen stuff. Good prices. I like their pillowcases, and their candles, all good prices. Many years ago I did get one of those "put it together yourself" book case, still have it, going on 40 years, still in good shape, its in my office.

 

I agree about the IKEA bookcases being good value - the robust ones ("Billy", I think) stand up to lots of heavy books without their shelves distorting. We have five. And a lot of books...
Nearest shop is Dublin, so we have stuff delivered when we need it.

Yesterday we went to a salvage yard near here to see if there was anything useful for the garden (or anywhere else). Great sign over the entrance:



- and I really fancied this "sculpture", but it wasn't for sale...



Lots of old windows, so there's scope for a DIY cold frame.

 

I rather like that chicken too. It gives me an idea that I can use some of the scrap in the shed to make a sculpture.
Just don't tell the wife what I'm planning - she might scupper things!!

How do you mark a thread as a favourite? I wanted to do that for this thread but I can't find the word favourite anywhere.

I use "watch thread" @Busy-Lizzie (to the right hand side at the top of the page where the page numbers are, if that makes sense). I then get an alert at the top of the screen if anyone posts.

You found us @PatE 12C and cloudy here in Norfolk… and the birds have been in full voice for quite a while Hope everyone’s had a restful night. I might have to give my coffee maker a gentle nudge … while I wait I’ll have a look at Wordle etc …

 

Meeting up with my old quiz team for lunch today. We started doing this as soon as the Covid restrictions were lifted. On the first Friday of every month we seek out a new venue to go to for a meal. Not too distant from where we are all situated. I suppose we could now be known as a lunch club. This is a different team to the one in the league I quiz in on a Monday night though there is one other member of that team in our lunch group.
