Morning all. Still here in North Carolina at our Airbnb. its chilly 46 now. Some garden work planned today, a couple helpers coming over this morning to help husband. Bought bags of garden soil, and mulch. The pine trees here are nuts with the piles of pine straw about clogging up the roots of shrubs, just too much. We did bring some plants down to plant, a few bulbs, Liriope, and Yucca, (all extra from our garden). The issue down here is the Deer, too many of them, they eat everything, so have to only get things Deer will not eat. And this community does not believe in culling. I also here Black Bear run about here, again, no one believes in relocation of them. Fun.
So, I am also doing my usual inventory of supplies, so far all is well, nothing missing, and normal usage count is found. I keep a tally book with me.
We have been out to some new breakfast spots, all seem yummy. But I do have lots of food here ect. Just have to cook on an electric stove, not my favorite, but making it work as I have a gas stove up north.
Well that is it for now. Take care all.

Have the yellow pollen dropping all over here, its nuts, then it blows into the screened in back porch all over the cushions etc. Nuts.

We managed to move the bed and bedside tables and OH has painted the wall behind the bed head. Very loud colour, Teal! I hope it’s going to look ok! My tasks were cleaning up, washing brushes and trays, but while I was hanging around waiting, I descaled and cleaned the taps in the en-suite. Feeling pleased with myself.
I think it’s been dry all morning, but I haven’t really looked out much. I did catch sight of a pair of bullfinches searching around the shrubbery. The squirrels are hanging around under the bird feeder, where a couple of Siskins have parked themselves on the perches and are stuffing their beaks!

I can sympathise about the deer @redstar as we get daily visits. No bears thankfully but when I lived in Scotland there were a couple of occasions when bears had to be removed from gardens in our village. They weren’t native though, just escapees from the local wildlife park.

Afternoon everybody, and thanks for your kind wishes @Liriodendron, no need to apologise though, there are so many posts now on a daily basis I also find it hard to keep up.

Glad we don't have bear visits @steephill, escapees or wild ones. When my niece once lived in Boston, Maine they had to have an electrified fence around their property to warn off the bears, my brother wasn't impressed when he went to visit.

It will be okay @Ergates about the painted bedroom wall, we've got the lighter duck egg blue on our guest bedroom - and you can't see it when you're in bed!

Had our usual walk this morning, then I planted a couple of irises in their new wall bed. I'd been hanging fire because of the wet weather but got fed up with waiting. I also started constructing a new raised table bed for perpetual strawberries but now find I will probably have to get some plastic troughs for them, the Grobags I got are too long and won't sit on the table top nicely.
                    Back to the drawing board!

OH had his stitches out on his thigh this afternoon, says it's much more comfortable. Whilst I was waiting for him I booked in for our Covid boosters for the end of May, my 7th I believe. I need to check with my GP beforehand that it's still safe for me to have them, given last year's health problems.

                    Have a good weekend all.

Once again rain of biblical proportions all night last night. The drumming on the roof and against the windows was enough to keep me awake most of the night. Then it all moved away early this morning sped on its way by some storm force winds. When will it all stop? Felt very tired so had a sneaky snooze over lunch time. Really hope that the warmer/drier weather promised for the coming weekend arrives to give us a break.
Enjoy your weekend folks whatever you have planned.

I've been weeding and planting this afternoon.

@lizzie27 I painted our guest room wall behind the bed head duck egg blue too, OH's cottage.

is that food shop a Grand Frais @Busy-Lizzie? One opened in Les Sables last Wednesday. I might go and have a look after patch on Monday.

I have painted the feature wall in Possum's bedroom a strong teal @Ergates. The others are pale blue tho I plan to change that to pale turquoise and am working on a patchwork quilt to pick up those colours.

                            Evening folks.
I’ve had a tough, tiring day in work but the (aching) feet are up now.

Just done a speed-read back. Consider yourselves all ‘liked’ and I’ll make it up to you.

Fell asleep watching Beechgrove last night, so I might have to try again later. I’ll keep GW to watch when there’s a rainy hour to kill on the weekend (so plenty of hours to choose from there!)

                            Night all.
