Morning all, my goodness storms and snow and shopping and builders and family visits aplenty! Nothing so interesting here - rain overnight and more forecast around lunchtime so no sneaking out for a bit of pottering on my lunch break.

Got woken by the wind howling at 6am this morning. Its was pretty awful last night as well. However, we need stuff from Waitrose today, so we have called into the Donkey Sanctuary for breakfast en route, and the sun has come out! I’m sure it won’t last, but good to see it for a while. @RowlandsCastle, we only discovered that our soil is ericaceous by walking round the local roads and seeing what was thriving in other peoples gardens. If you haven’t used up the compost, you could save some for seeds and cuttings?
@AuntyRach, I’m guessing the Moles breath and British drizzle are real colours? Sounds a bit Farrow and Ball to me! I’m more a Wickes fan myself!
@Dovefromabove, I hope your cut finger isn’t causing any pain?
I dreamt last night that I rescued a very sweet dog from an uncaring owner, and took it home. Told OH about it this morning, he was very quiet, he would love to have a dog. However, he isn’t keen on picking up poo, or dragging himself out for a walk whatever the weather. We will also be having our son’s dog to stay for three weeks in the summer, and she hates all other dogs, so that wouldn’t be fair.

Finger is fine thanks @Ergates … I even took the plaster off last evening so I could knit. It was only a tiny nick really … it just bled a lot. :yikes:

Morning all, dry-ish but we still have strong winds here so probably not gardening. Just got to take OH to the surgery for routine blood test later and pick up a baton for lunch, we've got cold lamb to finish up.
Good to see you @Dordogne Damsel, hope the builders get finished quickly.
I'm sure the compost will come in handy @RowlandsCastle - somewhere.
            Keep warm @PatW.
Glad you enjoyed the quiz @Ladybird4.

Better finish my coffee and get going.

It was a huge storm @Ladybird4, 20th June 2022. I was lucky, the roof was OK but there are holes in the gutters, must get them seen to. Handyman CB said he'd do it but he keeps being busy. Thousands of houses were damaged and cars had windscreens broken and dents in the bodywork. We were on our way back from the UK by ferry then I wasn't well and it turned out to be Covid. My garden was trashed, leaves and branches everywhere, but it recovered fairly quickly. Apparently the hail stones were like golf balls.

                Good morning
Yet another grey day here. There was a lot of rain during the night and more is expected this afternoon along with stronger wind. Not much chance to do very much in the garden again. I did manage a tiny amount of weeding when I planted out the anemone I’d been given yesterday. Luckily the weeds came up very easily as the soil is so wet. Today, I think I won’t get any gardening done at all. I’ve plenty to be getting on with indoors.
Hope you all have a good day.

Hello all, well the predicted storms missed us last night, we just had wind and rain, and it is soooo cold here today 12 deg colder than yesterday!
Indoor things to do today if I can really be bothered! My energy levels seem to go up and down with the weather.
Good to see you @Dordogne Damsel are the builders at your house repairing the damage from the fire?
                  Have a good day everyone.

                    Morning all.
A blustery, showery and cold-feeling day. Much milder weather is forecast before the week is out :)
An unknown herbaceous perennial has appeared in one of my flowerpots. I'll post a photo, if I can find the right part of the forum to do so.
Pleased to hear you had so much fun at the quiz last night @Ladybird4
Take care of that finger @Dovefromabove
Hope all goes will with all that building work @Dordogne Damsel
Glad that all went as well as possible in Scotland @Jacquiscrap . A sad time for you nonetheless, and my best wishes to you.
@Ergates becoming a canine parent is on my wish-list too, as soon as responsibilities allow.
Pace yourselves with the housework @Debs64 & @pattie . There is an old wisecrack: hard work never hurt anyone, but I'm not taking any chances...
                    Best wishes to everyone today.

@Ergates, looking after your son's dog for three weeks will definitely be a decider about having a new canine buddy or not.

@Brenda and @Bluejayway. I have two large water butts either side of my greenhouse and they have been full to overflowing forever! I use all that free water to water my cacti, orchids and other house plants.
