    Looks more bromeliad to me
    Possibly Puya.

      Apart from the sawtooth edge to some of the leaves it looks like a possible pineapple.

        Ah, the person that donated it to me said it was a pineapple, however she didn't seem to now much about plants

          Yes it was the thorny edge to some of the leaves that I was unsure of but I think some varieties do have these. 20240417_123116.jpg

            I thought Pineapple but saw the spines which have been bred out of commercial crops but as you say some may still have small spines.

              I'm wondering if it could be those mini pineapples that you see sold as houseplants.

                Could well be ananas comosus, but there's a couple of aloes that look like that. Not vicious enough for puya and seems too well advanced for agave...too blue/grey for pandanus.
