    Good morning all :coffee1:
Lovely waking here to a cuppa and the chimes of the church clock.

MIL’s birthday today … no real plans other than lots of cuppas and chat etc as OH’s sisters will be popping in but not sure when.

The fish and chip supper last night (a take out from a pub/restaurant in the village) was very good, and we’re taking her out to the other pub in the village for a Sunday lunch tomorrow.
    Enjoy your Saturday folks :spinning:

@Ante, got my fingers crossed that you get all the sweet potatoes in today.
@Tui34 I am a bit mystified by the 'couple of holes' comment. I am hoping this meant the dog had done some gardening and not chewed something in the house?
I would substitute 'will buy' instead of 'may buy'!

Morning all. Another sunny start but very chilly. I much prefer it to be on the cool side rather than hot. You can always put an extra layer on if it's cold, but you can't always take another one off if you're in a public space when it's hot!

Happy birthday to your MIL @Dovefromabove. Does she live in Greetham? - that rings a bell but I might have made it up. We had an excellent meal in The Wheatsheaf in Greetham a few years ago. Enjoy your stay.

It was my nieces birthday yesterday. She lives in Maui. They're 11 hrs behind us so I guess, technically, it still is her birthday. Some Whatsapp messages and baby photos have arrived from her overnight so I'm off to drool over those. The temperature there always seems to be around 27C and they live right by a beautiful sandy beach and most of her photos are on the beach. A rather relaxed and lovely lifestyle. I suspect her parents' wish for her to come back to (or at least a bit nearer to) the UK isn't going to happen any time soon..

Glorious blue sky here this morning. It’s a bit cold, but I can wrap up well, so not a problem. We have gone out for breakfast and a walk, then I shall get out to the garden later.
            View from the breakfast table!

              Morning all

              :coffee:

              What a view @Ergates - a living painting!

Bonus sunny morning, so another wash on and I must change into my gardening clobber rather than start doing things in my PJs as I often do!

              Enjoy the weekend folks.

                Hi all

                Sunny, but bitterly cold again.#
I am home alone today, so I can tackle the jobs Moira does not like me doing, unless she is around to rescue me.

@Ergates, I love, love, love your breakfast view! I would love being there with all those super donkeys. I'd never get anything done!
@AuntyRach I often do that too. You are not alone! Mind you, its a bit nippy this morning.
@Punkdoc, be careful you don't get 'stuck' anywhere otherwise you will give the game away!
@Topbird, happy birthday to your niece!

Lovely view Ergates. Hope the donkeys are friendly and not bitey. I love horses and donkeys but (having no real handling experience with either) I'm always a bit nervous around them.

@AuntyRach - I am often to be seen wandering around the garden in my dressing gown. Went out there this morning to open the potting shed and take out the parsley divisions I'm hardening off. It was a little too brass monkeys to be doing that without getting properly dressed!

                    @Punkdoc - BE CAREFUL!!!

I've been known to be pulling up weeds in the front garden in my nightie and fluffy dressing gown! Usually when I just popped out to put the washing on the line. The neighbours probably think I'm batty but I don't care

Now if I was seen in the front garden in a nightie and fluffy dressing gown, I would be thought of as more than a little batty!!

But the back garden is private and all unseen by neighbours.

My Etsy scarf arrived today from lithuania moments ago, lovely, well wrapped and messaged. Sunny. I’ve been for a walk, wearing two body warmers, as do feel the chill, but glad to be in the sun, wishing all a good afternoon.

                              Good afternoon,

It’s been a much brighter day here, but very cold with that pesky wind still hanging around. I did get into the front garden, though, to do a bit more deadheading and weed pulling, but it became rather chilly, so I’ve come back in. The cold affects my fingers, making them go white (Reynauds), even when wearing gloves. It doesn’t even have to be bitterly cold, just a slight change in temp affects them, even pegging damp washing out can trigger it. Most annoying.

Hello @Rosie loves nature. Glad you’re pleased with your scarf.

Well, I hope all of you visiting garden centres find something nice for the garden.

Do be careful out in the garden @Punkdoc.

What a delightful view @Ergates! My sister and I had a rescue donkey each when we were children.

I hope you are behaving yourself @Punkdoc.

I've been weeding and mulching the shrub bed. The mulch is from wood chippings from when I had a tree cut down and the overgrown hedge cut when I bought this house in 2021. It's now like coarse potting compost.
