Something's not quite right? Don't carry the worry. Tell your GP.

Yeah. How? You can't phone them or see them. Find a witch and do an invocation?

This was one of the main reasons we voted for Corbyn last time. Plus the Labour manifesto was greener than the greens.

We only get to elect the mayor for South Yorkshire this time - no local council elections. Five candidates, and I didn't find any of their blurb in the election leaflet particularly inspiring. I've voted anyway on principle (postal vote).

I'm one of the many Waspi women, but what I want to see being sorted -properly, is the disgusting bleeping shambles surrounding the Post Office victims, who had money extorted/stolen by the powers that be who were in charge, because that's what it was - blatant theft. Nothing can properly compensate them, but it breaks my heart seeing and reading what they've had to put up with.
How that man [Alan Bates] has found the strength to carry on fighting for them all, I'll never know.

I'm a WASPI too, but I agree with you, @fairygirl. I want to see all the PO victims have their finances restored to where they would have been without the false convictions, plus given compensation for wrongful imprisonment. I also want to see criminal proceedings against those responsible, not only because they knowingly and deliberately perpetrated a terrible injustice, but to make other managers in other businesses realise they cannot behave in a manner that causes harm to employees lower down the corporate scale.

Absolutely @ViewAhead . I can't say here what I'd really like to say, but I'm sure many people will understand it.
Sadly, I can't see those responsible ever being properly held to account. Yet another 'a big boy did it and ran away' scenario, just like the banking scandals.
What really galls is - any compensation they receive will come from taxpayers' money - ie including those who've been done over, not directly out the pockets of the real perpetrators, who disappear with their big pay offs. :mute:
Too many friends in high places etc....

Another WASPI here and I agree with both of you, plus retribution for all those damaged after being given infected blood. On all three accounts, I've a feeling they're waiting for most of us to die before there's a final settlement.

Here, here, one of the worst injustices I have seen, and so many have died without getting the compensation they deserve. Fujitsu ought to be paying a large part of the compensation.

I've had money 'extorted ' from me @Jenny_Aster , and I'm not explaining it here, but I was lucky- I got away, and I got most of it back. What has happened to those people is entirely different.
I can't understand why Fujitsu don't come out and say - 'we told them it needed more time because of bugs' if they genuinely knew that. You'd then proceed from there, as in - 'Ok Post office heid bummers - what did they tell you and if they told you, why did you just carry on anway and blame innocent people?'
                            Or have I missed that?

Fred 'The Shred' Goodwin anyone? Another travesty.

The managers should of course be held accountable, but I think it runs deeper than that.

For most of my career I was a software developer (I never worked on Horizon I hasten to add). I can tell you that many of the development team would have known about the bugs in the code a long, long time before any enquiry outed them. Some of those Devs might have called them out. But once news started to break that postmasters were being accused of fraud, they should have shouted louder.

From my experience in the industry, I can tell you that it's normal for devs to get really frustrated when they find a bug, ask for time to fix it, but get told no because it's not a priority. I would be willing to bet that happened many times on the Horizon project. But when it's a bug that affects actual human beings, I wouldn't have taken no for an answer. Ultimately I'd have resigned, which is about as much as a software dev can do as there's usually strong terms in the contract about not discussing details of the company's intellectual property. Point is, I think the devs carry some of the blame. They knew there were bugs in the code, and they didn't push hard enough to them fixed, instead they presumably looked after their own positions.

The permanents are one thing. There will have been contractors on it too. They too would likely have cared, but not as much, given that their terms tend to be more black and white. They come in, do a specific job, and leave in six months or a year.

Point is, yes the management should carry most of the blame, but there would have been a lot of people that knew what the real fault was and didn't make enough noise about it.

I think Waspi, Horizon and the infected blood scandal are all separate and worthy of being put right simultaneously. Trouble is the lawyers are making big money out of all this
