      Good afternoon,
Your ice cream looks delicious @RowlandsCastle. I bet you enjoyed that.
We went out for lunch this afternoon, so I won’t need to prepare much for us tonight, just a light snack of something or other.
Had a quote for painting our kitchen diner today - it’s in desperate need of painting and the ceiling in the extension part is too high to reach now, and I’m not as confident climbing up ladders anymore. The price is very reasonable, so we’re going to have it done.
It started out a nice day, with some sunshine, but, just for a change, it has turned cooler and showery this afternoon, with sleet in the mix. I wish it would warm up and dry up a bit.

I do like your picture @RowlandsCastle. I do prefer my walks along a flat route these days. Going up and down hills is not kind on my knees and ankles.

They didn't have wood pigeon ripple. The fox beat me to the last one - and only left the flake(y) bits!!

While, I have already wondered where the "old" group, of this thread went when the "new" group showed up. I seem to be the only one. What I see is the new group certainly seems united in the care for each other. Where as the old group, so far has not returned, so one could think there was no real care for each other then, so all a farce. So I am here, and sadly find it hard to keep up or address the news of all the new folks lives, I do enjoy reading about your days etc.

That's an interesting observation @redstar . I must admit I get a trifle confused sometimes as to whether an existing GC member is posting or whether it's one of the incoming GW group (of which I am one) with a different name, as I believe several of them did change their name when they joined here. There are so many posts on this particular thread I also struggle to keep up and to remember who has done what!
I do find your posts very informative as the American lifestyle seems to me to be quite different to ours in the UK. Keep up the good work!

I was able to get out in the garden today for a couple of hours, planting various things I'd nurtured over the winter. I needed them out of their pots to fill up spaces in my herbaceous borders. It wasn't that warm but we did have some sunshine.

Hope your GP can help @Anna42.

                Enjoy your Gala Dinner @Busy-Lizzie

@redstar, I agree with @lizzie27 in that I find your chatty stories about your travels and how things are celebrated in America most interesting, and as we are all now GC members we have just moved on. When you think about it, the big 'move' only took place just over a month ago and settling in is still going on.

I agree too. This is a lovely forum and the GW refugees have been made most welcome and made to feel we simply fit in.

@Blue arbour I am another one who regards ladder climbing as more risky nowadays. I do have a guardian angel who lives across the road from me and every time he sees me setting up my ladder to clear my gutters out, he watches me to make sure I'm not too unsteady. Just to clarify, the gutters I clear in that once-a-year task are only one storey up (I wouldn't EVER wish to go any higher) and the ladders I have are aluminium, therefore lightweight with handrails either side for extra stability.

@redstar - I have been really enjoying your posts about your travels and US life in general, and I'm very much looking forward to hearing about your journey to Nova Scotia - partly because it's on our 'list' of places to visit and partly because you'll be going to some places already ticked off that list but on the 'would like to return' one.

I do hope we're not making you feel ousted from your own forum - none of us would want that. We're a bit of a chatty bunch and several of us have known each other for years (both online and in the flesh) - so conversation and gentle ribbing flows quite easily.

Do stick with it and you'll get to know individuals better and we'll get to know a bit more about you and yours. Doesn't matter if you can't always keep up (the time difference doesn't help does it?) - we all have the same problem when life gets busy! Think we're all going a bit stir crazy a the moment with an unusually cold spring that's keeping us all indoors when we should be out there doing battle with Mother Nature!

Have you ever been to the UK or Europe? (forgive me if you've already said). Would be nice to hear where you've been.

Well it doesn't seem a week since I was talking of signing out to watch Beechgrove and Gardeners World but here it is again. I'll see all you lovely lot tomorrow. @Busy-Lizzie, have a wonderful evening and I hope that generous donations help towards the charities.

Good evening folks. Just done a 13 hour shift so just catching up. Bit miffed that the weekend forecast is a bit pants as could do with some gardening therapy plus there is a local plant fair (which I will go to even if raining).

Have a good weekend all whether you are in, out or shaking it all about (or trying to crack the combination code).

Only been to Scotland in that area, about 4 years ago, it was on my bucket list. Did the country side, got all the way up to Oakney Island (spelling). Stayed in Edinburgh for a bit, then later in Glasgow. I attend a Robert Burns party every February, near my house. But, been to Canada many times, several states of course in the USA. Belize, Dominican Rep. Bahamas. Porta Rica. Costa Rica. No none of you make me feel ousted. thanks.
