Afternoon all, it was cold, wet and windy this morning when we woke up so went for our usual walk all togged up with winter woollies, scarfs, gloves etc. It wasn't too bad when we turned round and walked home though, although still not pleasant enough to entice me out to play.
Washed the bedlinen and will have to tackle the ironing in a minute I suppose for want of anything else to do. Could do some housework I suppose but......

@Topbird, you made me so twitchy about Hayloft that I have just emailed them about an order I placed on 10th of this month. I will be interested to see what response I get. Normally they have been very good with me.
@Ergates, I'm like you - try to sort it myself and if all fails I would attempt to see my Doctor. Hey, and you never need to apologise about a rant and to be honest I didn't think your post WAS a rant. :)

I am going to go and lie down in a darkened room with a wet cloth on my head! All this talk of housework is bringing me out in hives!

Okay, that makes more sense, @Ladybird4

I've not got around to doing any code combinations today yet. We're getting the house ready for the workmen to start on Monday, which means making space for them to move about in the loft.
So no hot water or heating all next week, as the old boiler and tank go, and a new boiler is installed - but not in the same location.
I was out this morning. The village centre was showcasing all the leisure groups that run here - including the bellydancing. I opted NOT to join. I don't have the belly!!
Still, I've already joined the local heritage trust, and the wife has signed us both for the residents association. I might consider volunteering at the nearby Quex House gardens, once our own garden is sorted. Also down to volunteer at the local museum.

Plus I went to the local secondary school to support one of their events this morning. They could have done better!!

New York City is overwhelming. Was there maybe 9 years ago to meet up with some friends. When your at a stop light and watch a huge number of people cross the street to get to work its nuts. And the buildings are so close. I recall at about 3AM, where I stayed I looked out on the balcony to the street there was scads of yellow taxies just going around and around.
One of my bucket list is to eat at a Michelin Star restaurant, but the closet ones are in New York, hate the city, finally found one in the country part of New York, so have to plan for that one.
            Thanks.

I have been wanting to do a trip to New Zealand and Australia together, husband does not, says too long a flight, well he is right, we shall see.

I know in Europe there are awesome Christmas shops / Markets at Christmas. We went in 2019 to Quebec, Canada for Christmas, it was beautiful. Stayed in one of the gate houses, dated 1860 "something", cute streets etc, neat shops, awesome restaurants.
We also a summer prior to that went to Northern Ontario, Canada, a small island up there, for a week fishing trip, neat cabins, and a lodge for 3 meals a day to brag about catches. Been also way west to British Columbia for fishing again caught me some salmon there. Beautiful country.

Saturday, almost 10:30Am. Suppose to rain today.
Have to get outside and dead head all those daffs. Paint some railing. Do some laundry. File some papers.
                Have a good day all.

It's worth the effort and much easier if you break the journey. Almost like having a mini break while travelling by spending a couple of days on stopover.
I've been to Oz a couple of times (thankfully on the Client's account!) and there is a seemingly inexhaustible amount of things to do.

Well that was a cracking rugby match and England have triumphed. Sis and BIL will have been pleased that the rain did ease off for most of the match. My BIL is presenting the medals and as usual they are mispronouncing his surname. It is Briers pronounced as the French cheese but inevitably he is called Briars as in the rose.

Excellent result from the rugby @Ladybird4 - just enjoyed watching your BIL presenting the medals.
Sorry if I've made you a bit twitchy about Hayloft. I hadn't used them for years after they didn't send me the third pack in a 'Buy 2 get 1 free' offer and they took a few weeks to sort it out. Don't think they believed I didn't receive the third pack.

To be fair, although the aconitums I particularly wanted were titch tiny plants (but I sort of expected that) - they are now all developing nice strong shoots and I'll probably be able to plant them out in June. So I'm happy with those.

The erysimums which arrived this morning are a different matter. First they were coming, then they weren't, then they just did - despite me cancelling the order.
The 'plants' which turned up are nothing more than tiny just-rooted cuttings. They had fewer roots than some seedlings I've pricked out and the longest root was about 5mm long! I doubt they'll be ready to plant them out before the end of the summer. They cost £4 each! I bought full size plants for £4.75 each when I was told they weren't coming. Much better value and those have gone in the ground today.

Not a happy bunny. Can feel a snot-e-mail coming on.

@Topbird, I know those aconitums were a particular colour you wanted so its good to read that they are doing well. I've ordered some more hardy orchids from them so they had better be fairly substantial. I'll let you know as soon as I get a reply to my email.
I think you are right about the snot email too - Bestie gets me to write hers for her!

Over the hill, on the road just above me opened up a small bakery. the products he makes are outstanding. So I put a big marketing type of adver in a local neighborhood community online "thing". Went there today, the owners over joined they gave me a bunch of yummies free. Said business is up now. Good for them.
