It seems not as it has been reported widely without any requirements being imposed on Amazon.

The reality is that we do really badly for public loos in this country and, although not understanding/excusing the behaviour, I know first hand how little thought it is given to facilities for lorry/bus/coach/delivery drivers.

They will get round it by saying they are 'self-employed' or some nonsense...

Yeah ... or pretend that of course workers are allowed toilet breaks, without mentioning the sanctions imposed for delay getting the next parcel dropped off.

Oh, believe me, it is by far better than here. You can't find them in big stores , although most supermarkets have them.

Garden centers do not ... let alone restaurants ... you go there to buy plants/shrubs/trees. mostly gardeners (ie professional).

@Jiffy there's a town in France - Béziers and not so far form @Tui34 - that has been taking the DNA of every dog so they can identify unclaimed poos and fine the owners so your idea is not so far fetched.

As for human deposits, apparently the Covid lockdowns led to amountain of it as people went off "wild" camping. They clearly did not understand that wild does not mean uncivilised.

In Belgium, restaurants, cafés and large stores have to let people in to relieve themselves which is why many in Brussels and popular tourist towns have a Madame Pipi to keep them clean and charge a fee. In France there are public loos in supermarket complexes and shopping centres and I have yet to come across a Madame Pipi in a café or restaurant but then here is not exactly like being in or near the capital. There are also automatic self-cleaning loos in local tourist spots here such as yacht basins, ports and beach accesses.

Yes, shopping centres have them. In fact AlgarveShopping 15 minutes from us have quite exquisite marble ones with taps that turn on when you put your hands under them. restaurants however are pathetic ... one of the most popular and largest in Silves by the castle which seats hundreds has ONE loo for Ladies!!! :runforhills:

As a lorry driver it is very hard to find loo's ok lots on the motorways but A road very few and sometimes it's cleaner to poo in a bag, yes i've done it myself that's not a problem it's what you do with it that is, here the nearist public loo will be 7 miles away(if it isn't closed by now then it will be 15 miles) some drivers will poo in a bag then throw it on top of the trailar for it to come off later, lots of drivers from over sea's don't care where they go, I once had a wait of 4 days to tip a load and wasn't aloud to use loo's etc + if you drove back out you would loss your place in the Q so you would have to walk out to find somewhere to go but some places will let you in, here you can see many drivers stop for a pee male & female most days as it so rural and not many poeple around to see but tis fun to walk out the house and walk pass them ;) :heehee::stirpot:

@Victoria It's funny how architects designing major exhibition and conference centres think just 3 to 5 loos will do for a venue that holds thousands. Same in motorway services when a whole coachload or two arrive around midday and find long queues for the 4 loos that are deemed sufficient.

I learned which services to avoid when I was doing a lot of back and forth between here and Namur. Some "aires" with just picnic facilities still have squat loos! Italian services are so civilised and have food you want to eat too.

I live at the seaside. I fully understand that unfortunately that means dealing with annoyance people that are incapable of finding the massive car parks so park all over the pavements on the promenade. That's just a given these days.

But driving past today, once again, a BMW parked on the lifeboat slipway.

There's always been signage at the slipway, telling us to keep it clear at all times. It gets ignored. So more recently in addition to the standard signage and road markings that every licensed driver should know means keep clear, there are now also massive signs explaining that it is the lifeboat slipway. I mean, a lifeboat station directly opposite should be a clue but apparently not.

It makes my blood boil every time I see someone parked there. If the lifeboat crew get a 'shout', they will risk their lives to head out to sea to save others. But not if they can't even launch because some inconsiderate R sole has left their car in the way while they wander off for an ice cream or fish and chips, potentially delaying or preventing the rescue of someone's kid who's blown out to sea on an inflatable, or someone's dad who's boat has broke down three miles out.

The crew have the most awesome tractor that drags the boat in or out. I'm sure it could easily drag a parked car. I would pay money to watch the tractor driver lose his rag and just drag someone's car out of the way and accidentally drop it off the side of the ramp into the sea.

We've just had a reputable company in, remove our old boiler and tank, and install a new boiler elsewhere in the house. It should have been a job without hitches. Hah!!

They started by treading goodness knows what into the carpet of one bedroom. It won't come out, and is in at least five places.

Then they dropped a length of pipe out of the loft, putting a deep gouge in the parquet flooring, and breaking a crosspiece in the kitchen door - the latter they failed to tell us, and it was my wife who noticed. The broken pieces I found amongst the rubbish left for someone else to collect.

The parquet flooring has been scratched in numerous places, due to insufficient protection, which I pointed out before and during the installation.

Over exuberant work in the loft resulted in one of the bathroom light fittings being knocked out beneath them. This fell in the enamel bath, and left a hole/chip in the main section. No apology or offer to get it sorted.

I will be speaking to their manager tomorrow - and decide just how much money I withhold to cover the damage. We've had work done by this company before, and always been satisfied. Overall, I feel the work was rushed, and sub standard - which is a shame.

                              Grrrr!!!:wallbanging:
