Hi all. Found some bulbs in a brown paper bag in my shed. Going by the smell I'm guessing they're mini onions or garlic...can anyone confirm?
If they are can I put them in the same bed as my strawberries? TIA 20240502_115813.jpg

They could be ornamental alliums - they also smell oniony. Some of the smaller ones (eg Allium roseum) can become an invasive nuisance.

I wouldn't put them in with strawberries. As you don't know what they are having them in the same bed as edible plants is not a good idea.

They look like ordinary red onions to me, not familiar with the flowering Alliums TBH.
If they are you will be wasting your time planting them unless you want seed.

Just saying, but if they are flowering Alliums then all is good.

No what I meant is the bit about onions going to seed....is that because I'd be planting them too late? :)

No, its just that onions always go to seed when grown from last years crop, but yours looks more like that than "onion sets" which are especially grown for growing on and should not go to seed in this growing season.
I'm probably confusing the issue,
