I wouldn't mind but it is only a couple of months since they lifted the hose pipe ban from last year. They announced shortly after the reservoirs are finally full.
It was positively hot yesterday, gloomy today but still very warm. I am hoping the thunder and lightening will stay East of us going up country today.
By next month we will be in the throes of a heat wave.

The weather woman Pippa from ITV Meridian, the one they always have when it rains, said yesterday it was just the 6th wettest April.

@Goldenlily26 let’s wait what comes after the bank holiday. It may get drier.

Then it will be too hot to do anything outside and we will be frantically watering everything to keep it alive.

Heavy intermittent showers everytime I've shown my nose outdoors today. Thursday is shopping day and my new knees arenot sufficiently recovered to sprint across car parks!

Dry this pm tho and a giddy high (not) of 14C which I would consider cool in April. I shall go and check my babies in the PT, pot up the tortured Japanese maple I rescued from LIDL (we go for the wine but not much else) and then retreat to my sewing room and the second curtain for a guest bedroom window.

We have stayed lightly overcast all day with a light breeze, 17c now and think that will be it for today.

Yes I only have 52.5mm for April, but sunshine has been missing IMO.

I prefer Elisabeth Rizzini or Lucy Verasamy.

Overnight thunder and lightening storms with torrential rain (although I slept through it!).
Today we've had heavy drizzle nearly all day and it's very gloomy/foggy/misty. Do hope it brightens up tomorrow.

Thunder woke me about 5am. Luckily the heavy rain ceased for my drive to work. It’s just cloudy and gloomy this evening. Did I see a sun on the forecast for this time next week???

There are people who get seizures from lightning. 30 odd years ago, I met someone with that condition and he took extra care not to see the lights during that night. It’s the same when they warn on telly in the news of flash lights.
Btw, that was the most awful thunderstorm I have ever experienced in my life back then. It was so loud and the earth and house were shaking. I needed earplugs so loud was it.

I like Matt Taylor and there was another one last (forgot his name) who said what we have currently is more a weather like in the 70’s.Wise man.

It turned out a goo day after the very heavy early morning thunderstorms. Slightly over cast but just reached 20C. I've just got home after closing up the polling station and we have lightning and thunder and 14C.

We were lucky last month with a lot of sunshine and not too much rain.
