Today I cut the last of the Ascot daffodils and brought them inside to enjoy for a day or two. Here they are on my windowsill, lit up by the setting sun. 2024-05-03_19-21-49_cropped.jpg

I took a few pictures from what emerges and what is flowering because the garden centres sold it like that :-)

That's Polemonium, bought by OH last year.

        20240501ourgarden_01.jpg

This year's Polemonium OH decided for is one with yellowish leaves and pinkish flowers complimenting the one above.

The next day after planting the new Scabiosa, it was already used by hoverflies.

My new purchase: Geum Totally Tangerine

        20240501ourgarden_03.jpg

The Foxtail lilies and Cornflower are from 2017 and are happily flowering year by year.

        20240501ourgarden_04.jpg

I bought this Delphinium at the farm shop in October and planted it in April.

        A Geranium, 'Johnson' its name

        20240501ourgarden_07.jpg

Finally, the Dicentra spectabilis plants are still flowering.

Veronicastrum I think, opening its first flowers. It's a plant I bought from the supermarket last year and it didn't flower then, and I'd pretty much forgotten about it until it put up the flower spikes.
Edit: actually it's Veronica Gentianoides, or Gentian Speedwell. I was reminded by seeing the same plant on sale in Morrisons today!

We had a few in concrete planters that we brought from our old house.

I'm told this is a Judas Tree - or at least, the flowers.

I especially like the Weigela. I can't hold the camera steady enough to get a decent photo.
                      Thank you @On the Levels

More from the nectaroscordum, you'll have to forgive me, it's the first time I've grown them!

Never heard of a nectaroscrodum. Looks very pretty. :) I assume from the name it is bee-friendly.

Nectaroscodium is a nuisance in my garden, it seeds itself everywhere and has an onion smell.

                            Marsh Marigold, Caltha palustris :-

First year blooming for this rhody. It's one of those times you give a sigh of relief as you wait a few years to see if the supplier gave you the right plant!
