Im not sure if I'm asking this in the right place.
Ive recently had to change from a Tablet to a Computer and I have no idea how to get the Photos from my phone to my PC.
Can anyone recommend a You Tube channel that will tell me in very easy terms as I'm struggling with this technical stuff!
    Thankyou.

Have you tried just plugging it into a USB socket.
Often the device downloads any necessary software to automatically download phone stuff onto the PC.
Having said that my old phone was never compatible with my laptop, my new one does.

All you have to do is put all your photos into a folder on your phone and then send yourself an e-mail with the folder attached on your computer.

All my phone photos are automatically saved in both a Google drive folder and a OneDrive folder. On my computer I just use Windows Explorer to find that same folder(s), then drag and drop into this forum when making a post.

I use a galaxy/android phone and a Microsoft Windows pc. It might be different if you are using apple devices like iPhone and mac book.

Many thanks for your kind responses.
I will try and sort something out from your suggestions.
I thought it should have been simple but its more than likely that I am the simple one as far as computers are concerned.
    Thankyou again.:)

As said there are several ways to get your photos down to the PC.

Think this is the simplest, just connect your phone via its USB C port to the PC USB port, usually the same cable you charge the phone with.

Unlock your phone and have it ready.

Go to the Photos APP on your PC and on the top right hand you will see an Import box, when you press it, a message should appear on your phone asking for Permission to File Transfer etc, so accept or turn on.

All the photos in the Phone will then appear on the PC, you can then select All or specific ones to Import.

Once imported you can view in the Photos app or any other photo app.
All the pictures on the Phone are still there, they are just copied, not removed.

If you get stuck, then it might help to know which version of Windows eg 11 your are running and what phone/model you have.

I e-mail my photos from phone to my computer then upload from there (with a few modifications in between) via iPiccy Photo Editor is Awesome! Done this for years.

        I have a Samsung 6 Phone And a Windows 11 Dell 13inch Laptop.
I tried the charger lead which only charged up my phone from the computer.
Now someone has said I need a Data Transfer Lead.

Hopefully will get there eventually. Thankyou so much for all your help.

Yes you need a data lead which has a couple of extra wires, the phone manufacturers must save a tiny fraction supplying just charging cables.

You could use "phone link", details from MS here. I find it a bit clunky but it does the job. Most USB cables should work for data, but you still than have to navigate your file system using explorer or the likes. My Samsung is a tad old (S8), but certainly the cable it came with works fine for data transfer.

I had a quick look around and there are a few issues, this might be of some help. Get back if you need help on it, but the connection mode setting may be the problem - it rings a bell.

Do you have Google Photos on your phone? If your pics are there you can log in to your Google account on your laptop and access them, download etc.
For the USB connection you might have to do something on your phone to allow USB transfer and not just charging. I vaguely remember something but not exactly what.

I use Samsung email on my phone and email photos or anything else as an attachment to my desktop. On the desktop you receive the email and save the attachment to anywhere you want.

I finally managed to get all my pics on the PC.
It took a while as I tapped on every one individually and then sent them to my Gmail with not much hope.
But when I checked the PC having pr{essed that thingy with 9 dots on the top right{no doubt theres a word for it} and scrolled down, there on "Photos" were all my pics.
Next prob is how do I put odd ones on the Forum. When I press the icon atthe top for pics it just says URL and I dont have a clue what that means?
            OH Godelpandsaveme........Its a nightmare :biggrin::biggrin:
