Good that you have a surgeon you trust @Tui34 as both outcomes and after care can vary considerably, even for "standard" operations.

Condolences to all who have lost loved ones.

Morning all. 11AM here. Just busy with AM stuff. Rained most the night, garden is happy. 61 degrees here, lovely.

Sorry for your loss @PatE , condolences to the family. Seems as we age we loose folks. Just reminds us to cherish every moment.

@Badly_Maintained , yes the pressure point is on the fatty part at the base of the thumb. So pressing into it hard with fingers is suppose to help. Give it a try.

Nothing major planned today, probably back to the trip planning. We are also suppose to drive down to our Airbnd in June, first week about. Always taking something. Maybe this trip the cotton fields will be in bloom, that's perhaps something you all don't see, vast acres of white fluff on the plants ---yep cotton fields. The folks down there are awesome, get lots of the "southern charm".
But for now enjoying being home.
        Take care.

Afternoon all, my condolences to both @Punkdoc and @PatE, both sad events now all too familiar unfortunately.
Glad to hear you have a consultant's appointment already arranged for new hip/knee @Tui34.
Hope @Busy-Lizzie is nearly home by now.
OH's appointment went well @Badly-Maintained, thanks for asking. Next one already scheduled for 6 months time.
Hope your MIL is still doing well @Dovefromabove, this week seems to have gone very quickly.

Had a haircut in town this morning so indulged in a mooch around M & S followed by a restorative coffee and my favourite naughty iced spiced bun! Bought a small wheeled suitcase as we've booked a short hotel stay - which doesn't have a car park - oops! Had to wheel said suitcase right up through town to hairdressers, then to bus stop followed by lengthy walk home the other end so I gave it a good trial run! I also had to buy a new tee shirt as I was overdressed and it got hot. Did a quick change in the hairdressers' loo!

              Enjoy your evening folks.

Regarding surgery. Never had any, never been in a Hospital as a patient.
Very afraid of surgery as I am a real red head.

                  Evening folks.

Thoughts to @PatE at what must be a sad time for you.
I hope you are doing ok.

Thoughts to @Punkdoc ‘s family too.

I hope everyone is ok. I’ve just done a very long day of interviewing and deliberating which was pretty tiring. I’m just having a bagel and cuppa with my feet up. As someone who wears trainers for work and ‘comfy’ shoes the rest of the time - my feet are murder tonight after wearing my tidy* office shoes.

*I’m thinking that the term ‘tidy’ in this context, meaning smart, is a Welsh colloquial - in case you are perplexed as what my ‘tidy’ shoes are!

I love the Welsh use of the word tidy, it seems to have many uses.

Thank you all who wished us a safe journey. We caught the plane with 30 mins to spare, picked up my car at the airport, went to an SM and bought some food and milk, home around 7pm.

It must have poured here, the garden is like a bog.

                      Condolences to @PatE.

Yes! its often used as an alternative to “ok” as an informal affirmative; can also be used to express that something is pleasingly acceptable; and it can refer to something smart or for ‘best’.

I’ve been for a short drive in my car again to try to keep my practice up. My GP has been nagging about me getting out of practice.
