I haven't got room for "a collection", so whatever I choose has to tick a lot of boxes. I am very drawn to Scented Garden currently, as I love apricot colouring.

        'Look Good...Feel Better'
        Charlottenburg
Bred by Olesen Mogens Nyegaar (Denmark, 2002).
Introduced in Denmark by Poulsen Roser A/S in 2010 as 'Charlottenburg'.
        Floribunda. (Series: Paramount ® Collection)
Dark red. None to mild, fruity fragrance. 25 petals. Average diameter 3.5". Medium to large, very double, cluster-flowered, old-fashioned bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Bushy, compact. Glossy, dark green foliage. 5 leaflets.

        Height: 31" to 39" (80 to 100cm).
Can be used for container rose.
Inventors: Olesen; Mogens Nyegaard (Fredensborg, DK)

The present invention constitutes a new and distinct variety of garden rose plant which originated from a controlled crossing between the female seed parent, an unnamed seedling, and the male pollen parent, also an unnamed seedling.
The two parents were crossed during the summer of 2002 and the resulting seeds were planted in a controlled environment in Fredensborg, Denmark. The new variety, named ‘Poulcas034’, originated as a single seedling from the stated cross.

'Look Good...Feel Better' was classed 8th in the Floribunda category at the 2010 Baden b. Wien rose trials.

Lots of lovely roses here but I'm after advice please.

In2017 I was given a La Traviata by senior SIL. I planted it out the following autumn in mmy new rose border which was prepared with much quarrying of stones from demolished farm buildings and then beefing up the soil with horsemanure and garden compost.

It grows well with strong stems and foliage and produces good red flowers but it's a "baller". If the buds get rained on at the wrong moment they set and seal themselves, fail to open and then look dreadful. Any open flowers that get wet also look very bedraggled and need pruning.

This year we've had loads of rain and it is now looking very unattractive. Is there any point in continuing with it? If I prune out all the manky flowers it will likely be weeks before new ones form.

Bite the bullet and dig it out?

I prefer my roses with open flowers for pillnators and some perfume.

I've got the same problem here, O-V, but this year is 'exceptionelle'. One trick I have learned is to dead-head spent or tatty flowers fairly close to the bloom. This is counter to usual advice to prune down to a big, healthy leaf, but the difference in the time it takes the plant to re-bloom is surprising.
I wouldn't get rid of any plant on the strength of their performance so far this year. It's 17 years since we've experienced a winter and spring even half this dire. Next year will be better :) At least most roses are remontant. Very few Iris are, so it's pretty disappointing when they're wiped out.

Thanks @noisette47 . This one wasn't wonderful last year as summer was a bit cool and damp once we got over an early heatwave in May/June. Couldn't do anything about La Travesty as I had a new knee at the beginning of July.

The main problem is I see all the time from where I sit on the sofa so it's a bit obvious.

image.jpg My indigoletta is also in year 3 but is rather sparse by comparison to my Clarence House.

Not sure if rose re-plant disease might be a problem now, but if anyone can recommend a weather-proof rose, it's @wiseowl :)

I'm not worried about rose re-plant didease @noisette47 . If I choose another rose I'll plant it in a cardboard box with its own soil and compost mix so it has plenty of time to grow and develop a healthy root system.

I have a new Astronomia needing a home once it develops a good root system and then there are last year's purchases all ready to go........ Belle de Trange, Entente Cordiale, Lovely Lin and more whose labels are hiding.

I need a new rose bed!

@noisette47 I found this on a UK website featuring repeat flowering irises - Re-blooming

Worth checking to see if Cayeu or other French nurseries have any of them in stock.

I had heard that some breeders were working on the remontant aspect but didn't realise how many there are now. Any excuse to browse Cayeux's catalogue ...

@noisette47 a lot of people on the GW Rose thread used to get roses from TCL. They said it was amazing value but sometimes they got sent the wrong rose. I get my roses from Lens and André Eve. I used to bring them back from David Austin and Peter Beales in the car but since Brexit that isn't allowed. I've found that the French and Belgium sites are cheaper though.
