Don't forget @simone_in_wiltshire these birds are part of nature and know exactly what they are doing. If they had a problem they wouldn't be nesting where they are. Let them get on with what comes naturally to them while you carry on normally with your day to day life.

Instinct comes naturally to all animals and it frustrates me when some gardeners say we can't plant this or that because it may poison our pet. Domesticated animals also instinctively know what is good or bad in gardens. They didn't have humans in the past to look out for them.

I am amazed how so many of you have your camera/phone just at the right time when you are out in your garden to take such superb photos. I never have my camera (my phone is no good) with me when I am gardening/or in the garden. Fabulous photos.

I don't have my camera in the garden but it is to hand indoors. Often something will have disappeared before I can grab it. :)

I have exactly that problem @Sheal . I got a new camera recently, because the zoom on the old one was really malfunctioning. As soon as you saw something of interest, and tried to zoom in, the bird or insect had disappeared by the time it worked well enough!
I don't really like taking it outside when I'm in the garden. I'm always worried I'll forget about it...

I struggle with a phone camera as there is no real place you can hold it without touching something that has a function.

I prefer a proper camera but my old Nikon one needed replacing and couldn't really justify buying a new SLR as I'm no photographer, so bought a Sony cibershot, the one I dropped into the bird bath last week.

              Oh @pete :mute:
Has it dried out, and if so, is it working again?

I don't have one of the phones that takes pix - just an old basic one. I do have a kindle, but I never think of using it for photos. It would be the same problem as one of those phones though.
I've just been looking at covers for it, because I struggle with handling it for the same reasons, and my daughters both have covers/cases for their phones. That might be an idea? Younger daughter's phone has a small handle type thingy on the back for holding it too.
Note the excellent technical jargon I used there...:heehee:

I have seen a lot of lady bugs this year and I saw them pretty early on in about march, they're the best kind of bugs I would say super cute

Yes it dried out and seems to be OK.

I never used to carry a mobile and when I did I often forgot to switch it on. Since using it for pictures I've started carrying it in the pocket (with a cover) and take loads of (rubbish) pictures. I've also found it very useful for magnifying using the camera for looking at things like seeds germinating or insects.

iPhones make rubbish pictures. The best phone pictures I saw were made with a Sony phone (someone in the GW forum had one 2 years ago).

Hope it stays that way @pete . What a pain, They aren't cheap either. I was reading a while ago that they don't recommend putting phones etc into rice when they get wet, which was what always seemed to be the solution. Can't remember why though...

I forgot to post these yesterday. What I didn't realise until I loaded the pix onto the laptop was - spot the little extra crawling up the old bit of Equisetum on the left...
