A rare occurrence when I post on this thread. This is the only bed in my front garden, which has to contend with my neighbours wilderness. In amongst the Lupins there are young shrubs and other perennials struggling against the weeds. It needs some serious tidying up.

Excuse the plastic pots but they are the only ones that survive the elements here. This is my favourite ground cover plant, now in pots because it doesn't like the soil here, very sandy loam.

I have hardly time to catch up, so much work to do.
I took this week pictures of the garden, partly in the early morning before it got grey, and when there was sunshine, I had to stay inside and to work.

Loving all the little bees, @simone_in_wiltshire. :)

That looks a lovely ground cover plant, @Sheal! New to me. I must read up on it. :blue thumb:

That is a nice plant @Sheal - and lovely pix of the lupins. Lupins always remind of that Monty Python sketch - 'your life or your lupins'...:heehee:

Looking great @simone_in_wiltshire - what a lovely view across to your bench. Is the view as good when you're sitting on it?

My white Astrantia [superstar I think?] has shot up and is about to flower. It's enjoyed all themoisture and warmth we've had recently. It isn't usually so early. I might get around to doing a pic. The wee Philadelphus is opening nicely too.

@fairygirl No, I was actually standing in front of the tomato/bean/wildflower beds, approx. 2 meters apart.
I can only sit on the bench in the morning. If there is sunshine in the afternoon, it's too bright and hot during the summer. I normally sit then on my tree stump by the west side fence and the view is this: The Verbascum Snow Maiden is between bench and stump.

              20240530ourgarden_02.jpg

@ViewAhead On the left, that is my old bed, the one I struggled with for years until I found the right formula 2 years ago. Yesterday evening, when it was warm, there were countless many bees hovering over the Geraniums. The white one spills now over and I can't go through the path, but it makes the bees happy :) It rains today, but it's approx 3 meters long and 1 meter wide and has 5 different types of Geranium. Behind on the left are the Astrantia plants.

Your garden is looking fantastic @simone_in_wiltshire! Your first photo of the blue flower with the bee is superb! Is the flower a perennial Cornflower?

That is indeed a cornflower plant, but has soon finished flowering. It directly behind the new Deutzia and will be moved where currently the Leucanthium is.
Have to stop and quickly take a picture for fairygirl to show what looks from the bench because there is a minute sunshine. :)
