        Oh dear.
I now know why my neighbours chickens were in my garden. Mr. Reynard paid a visit and caught 4 of the flock. We think the rest of them must have taken refuge in my garden which is where Rob found them.
My neighbour only found a few feathers so I do wonder if the cubs were with Mum or Dad honing their hunting skills. The remaining birds are being kept shut in the run to their disgust, a bit late though. Shutting the door after the event.

I was contemplating another session in the garden today but it is blowing a hooley, the trees are lashing almost to horizontal.

Oh dear @Goldenlily26 - that is a great shame. Mother nature at her finest I suppose. Hope you and your dog have recovered from your expedition the other day.

Hello all, just reading back to see what you are all up to. Plenty going on I see.
I had my Covid booster a couple of days ago, needless to say I felt absolutely crap yesterday. I thought I would make a cherry cake with cherries from the garden but forgot to flour them before mixing them in so of course they all sank to the bottom, but it was still yummy!
It's cool and windy today and we have a trip to the tip planned for later to take an old bed, now that's what I call living the high life!!
            Catch you all later!

Thursday, up early 6:41 Am .
Ordering stuff and going to list of what needs to be taken down to the Airbnb. Have to get to more stores etc. Each guest at our Airbnb gets a gift bag, so I have to make sure the box of them is well supplied. Anyway, just ordered stuff from Amazon.

Rained all last night. Hope to get to the garden some today. I really need to transplant a few hostas, too many and to big.

              Have a good day all.

                Hi all

Strange weather here, one moment glorious sunshine, and hot too, then torrential rain. I am trying to rush out between the showers and plant more Dahlias and Ricin.

Had the first signs of withdrawal from my meds. last night, started to feel cold and shivery, but it settled with a dose of Valium. The thing I am finding most difficult, is I am having to manage it on my own. I was discharged from psychiatry several years ago, and my GP has copped out, saying I can probably manage it better than him.
Hope you will forgive me for discussing it on here, but it helps me get my thoughts in order.

Hi everyone, damp and showery here, shame after a nice dry day yesterday. I did a volunteer session at Capel Manor yesterday, I haven't been able to go so regularly recently so I think Dave was very pleased to see me.

Wish me luck tomorrow morning, I have an eye clinic visit, on top of the Glaucoma they think I have a touch of wet AMD in the right eye, and they want to start injections into the back of the eye. I am a real wimp when it comes to my eyes can't even cope with contact lenses, not sure how I will get on with this. It's only knowing how much my dear mum struggled, and now my older sister is struggling with Dry AMD (not treatable) that has persuaded me to give it a go.

@Punkdoc - I'm sure none of us mind you talking about your path through withdrawal especially if it helps you to deal with it better.

I truly hesitate to make medical recommendations to a retired doctor, but I wonder if it might help to keep a daily diary - how you really feel - what your symptoms are - how long they last - what helps - what makes things worse etc.
Apart from being another way to channel your thoughts, it may be useful if you go through a dark patch to be able to look back, see how far you've come and what might help get you through. On good days you can post some nice positives to yourself.

That sort of thing seems to work for some people and it may, or may not, be for you. Just an idea - hope you're not offended by the suggestion:smile:

Thank you @Topbird, I think you might be right about a diary, one of the things I love about a good forum, is the really helpful suggestions people offer on all manner of subjects.

The problem with being a doctor in a very specialised area is: I found I knew more and more, about less and less, until I knew everything, about nothing.

Worked in the mental health field/ medical for 55 years. I hope your titrating your meds, lowering gradually. That is I was assuming you were on some sort of Psych meds. Your GP copping out like that, SMH. But I have run across GPs also I would not give a hoot for. Take care.

                            Good afternoon all,

Well the decorator has finished the kitchen diner, so now we have the task of putting everything back again, but coffee first. Just moved the pine table though, and one of the legs has split, so more expense to get it fixed as it’s a split that requires specialist attention, not just a dose of wood glue. Anyway, we’ve been in touch with a furniture restorer/repairer and they say they can repair the leg, which is a relief as the table itself is fine, solid pine, and I don’t really want to have to get a new one. Plus it matches everything else in the kitchen.

@Ante1, we’ve got plenty of rain here, so I’ll send some across to you.

No, I’m sure no-one minds at all that you are posting about your issues @Punkdoc. If it’s helping you then please continue. Although few of us have medical knowledge, we can certainly offer support and encouragement. I think @Topbird suggestion of keeping a diary is a good idea, too.

Well, I’ve finished my coffee, so back to the kitchen :)

Glad the kitchen's finished @Blue arbour. Never sure whether the kitchen or a bathroom is my least favourite room to decorate. Bad luck with the table leg but at least it can be fixed. Don't forget what you said about culling your stuff when you move things back in....

@Allotment Boy - fingers crossed for you for tomorrow. Eyes are so precious. The thought of needles in them is giving me goose bumps, but I'm sure it will be fine. Deep, deep breaths and calming thoughts.

@Punkdoc - I'm glad you weren't offended by the diary suggestion. Sending virtual hugs to speed you on your recovery. Have you got another special meal planned anytime soon?

@Punkdoc, good that you know to come off slowly, my late brother had a bad habit of just stopping his meds, then he would crash and have to start again. Our posts must have crossed earlier, maybe I could borrow some of your Vallium for tomorrow. :)
