The silaging has now stop i can now go out in my car :) this year the tractor drivers were driving like idots, looking at the hundreds of tyre marks and how long they are and all on corners they've meet lots of vehicles  nearly taken down elecy cable and hit a tree with the trailar when it was tip up, yes i know this work has to be done but not like driving idots

Being a person that likes mushrooms, have you ever tried those pegs that you put in drilled holes in logs.
I dont eat mushrooms but it sounds interesting.

No I've not tried that yet. I'll probably give it a go at some point with shiitakes or lions mane as shiitakes don't grow here normally and lions mane are rare and protected.

Otherwise I easily find enough choice edible mushrooms to see me through the year

Sitting on the refurbished bench looking at the pond and drinking a cup of tea with the blue sky above. Bliss.

I've been doing the same @On the Levels, but in our 'orchard' amongst the long grass and buttercups which I'm thrilled are now flowering there. It was very peaceful with some bird singing away to itself and the big maple above me fluttering in the breeze.

After 3 weeks of complete upheaval while the roofer was replacing our roof tiles, he finished today :yahoo: He managed to do it without exploding the retaining wall holding the drive up, despite parking a huge lorry with a crane and bucket dangerously close to the edge  Double :yahoo: He's done a lovely job......:phew:

I was just going to say I'm happy my boiler installation has been completed ... but I think 3 weeks of roofing trumps my modest 2 days of work, @noisette47!

Mine is a very simple thing. I planted an Anapurna white rose early in the year. Now it is flowering and it has a wonderful scent. Have to have a sniff every time I walk past.

It's been another sunny day in Dordogne and the birds were singing and having their evening meal in the mulberry tree while we sat on the patio having our dinner.

I hope "today" can be stretched two days due to technological disadvantages.
We spent 6 days in Falmouth and found exorbitant prices for meals in restaurants. Bills above £75 and surprising little on the plate made us thinking. The Turbot for £36 at the Hook on the Rock turned out to be a Turbite. At least I had a whole plaice for £25. The plaice at the Indidog the next day for £25 had the second half missing and made it to the most expensive plaice I have ever eaten in my life.
The last day, we found the Cha Cha Cha and look at this sharing platter for just £38 full of fresh products.
Crab meat on chips, king prawns, scallops, squid rings, calamari, salad, dips.
