Cool and grey with a light breeze so far today, but it dried the washing fine. Last night felt chilly (my outside temperature sensor got to a low of 9C but it's on the north side of the house, not out in the open, so it reads a bit high). The outside tomatoes aren't showing any signs of damage so I don't think it was as cold as it felt. There's rain forecast to start soon-ish and continue through the evening but as usual for spring/summer, I'll believe it when I see it.

Utterly grim here, thinking of putting the heating back on. None of the tender plants are growing and some are looking very sorry for themselves.

We’ve had a run of chilly days and already had the heating on briefly each evening to take the chill off. We had about 8 days of glorious weather in early May, I think that was Summer.

She Who Must Be Obeyed @cactus_girl :heehee:

My gauge is temp. only, and the cover is just a cut off piece of a plastic bottle. It means there's protection for the batteries, but I can still get into it to change them when needed. I didn't have a screw top jar, but that coul dbe abetter idea if I can find one :blue thumb:

Surely a weather station sensor needs to have a decent airflow around it to be anything like accurate.
Its just started raining here, been just bright at best and the wind felt cold, not great really for the time of year.

@pete the sensor is hidden under a bench in the GH, in the shade. Don't want any windchill! At the moment it's saying 15.9C, with the GH door shut. But if the air gets to it, it stops working. It is difficult to buy just a new sensor that is compatible. I reckon the temp in the GH is about 3C above the outside. So I only use it for the temp, especially for frost. I think it got down to -1.5C once.

It would be good to do an experiment comparing fresh air or not!

It is also very useful to check the temp in the FF. Note the signal does transmit to outside the FF - so no good thinking you can put your car keys in the FF.

5°C overnight and it didn’t feel a lot more than that today. Overcast/wet and windy. The runner beans are blown to bits.

Got to 29,9c at 5.30pm and very breezy all afternoon. On a quick slide down now at 26,5c and still very breezy but sunny and nice and fresh.

No matter how cold it will get we won't have the fire on this time of year, but the central heating has been coming on in the morning.

Seems to me that a version of my weather hits over there 72 hours later. If so, look out! We were needing the heat yesterday and now
