    Hi all,

Posted few weeks ago about tomato plants getting mouldy. I did panicked a bit and sprayed it once with fungus fighter, don't know if that's what helped, but anyway all plants have recovered and seem to be doing well. Don't know why the stem is thicker at the top of the plant than bottom but all seems to be going well so far. Thank you all for help.

New growth where the leaves are, and it might be worth checking those ties are not too tight low down.

Tomato stems are always thicker higher up, its just how they grow, the stems are woody lower down.

In all my years of growing tomatoes (and there've been a fair few!) I have never known things as bad as this year.
My 'Oh happy day' are not happy at all. They are 'blind' above the 2/3 truss - all four of them. This means I am not happy either. In fact, I may be Grumpy. I have let a side shoot grow in the hopes it may become a leader.
Black cherry is growing well, but not fruiting.
The 2 healthiest tomatoes are the Golden sunrise outside, but they are much smaller than the greenhouse toms.

Hi, please could I ask some advice. My tomato has something wrong with the leaves and I can't identify what it could be. The photos show the front and back of a leaf. Any help in identifying this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are all the leaves like that? If just one or two lower leaves I wouldn't worry.

There are a few things that may cause that symptom, bacterial or fungi. It can be made worse by cramming plants too close and not having enough ventilation, also splashing water over the plant instead of carefully watering the soil.

Are they in a greenhouse, are other plants OK?

Not something I would bother about, leaves age and will not look pristine all summer, bit like me really.

They in a conservatory, so effectively a greenhouse. It is predominantly on the lower leaves but has started to affect the upper leaves now. There is only two plans next to them with some peppers to one side. The other tomato is fine at the moment but does have some curled leaves. Photo attached of how they're positioned.

Have you tried feeding them yet? There is a lot of 'iffy' compost around of late and it could be it's low on 'oomph'. I'd try watering them with a normal high nitrogen feed (ie. not a specific tomato one) and see if they pick up.

Got the tomatoes potted up and into the greenhouse today June 18th ! Mental. 3 weeks later than last year, just so cold. Glad I started them late.
Others got spotted up and left outdoors. Just cant keep bringing them back into the conservatory at night anymore, it's got ridiculous.

They look leggy as though searching for light. Is this going to be their final position because they might outgrow your windowsill before flowers appear. How hot does it get in there, if in full sun it might be too hot for them?

You might need to move them apart a bit more, and give them better airflow @Rich_83 , if that's possible.
It's always quite tricky when they're in a conservatory, because it can get searingly hot, just like greenhouses, even on not terribly warm days, then the temp can drop quite a lot at night, so it's really important to get good ventilation during the day, and to add some shading too once temps are higher. I often had to have every window and the doors open, when I had them in a conservatory. Fortunately, it was also open to another room, so it was easy to open those doors too, to keep the temps more even. Closing everything early enough is also good, to stop it getting too cold. They're a good size though, so they'll cope better than smaller plants would.

The sill looks very narrow though, so that might be tricky as they would possibly benefit from slightly bigger pots. You may have to rig up a table or similar for support if that's the case. If foliage touches glass, it can get damaged more easily.

Having said that, I don't think there's too much to worry about as it's perfectly normal to have some ropey looking leaves low down, as the others have said.
