Oh what a shame for them @Dovefromabove. Good news that there was no serious injury - a car can be fixed. My neighbours are lovely and we all know that we can call on anyone in any emergency and they will be there. I do feel sorry for people who don't have such nice neighbours.

Oh my goodness. Watching this Jack Draper v Tommy Paul match reminds me of all those agonising Tim Henman matches. I'm sure its not good for the old B.P.

Neighbours are going to let me know when they’re ready to be picked up from hospital. It’s only 10 mins down the road. T doesn’t think it’ll be tonight tho. I did remind him we go to bed early. If he/they get discharged overnight they’ll get a taxi, but we’ll help if we can. They’ve been very helpful to us, especially this last year.

So here I am in France on a French campsite owned by a Dutch couple and at least 75% of fellow campers are Dutch. The remainder (bar 2 English vans including us) are French. Tonight's Euro match is Netherlands v France - huge screen set up in the bar, many orange tops, many orange and Dutch flags. Dare I cheer for France.....?

Just enjoyed an excellent boeuf bourguinon in the restaurant served with bread (tick), fries (ok - prefer mash), lettuce & carrot salad and mayonnaise. Those last two are definitely a first with (essentially) beef stew. But it was very nice, the house wine good and the company very convivial, so a good pre-footie time was had by all. Suspect there may be a few hangovers in the morning!

I used to love being in France skiing, during the 6N rugby , always a great atmosphere in the bars, and as long as England weren't playing I would support the French, always a good way to a few drinks bought for you.

My sis sent me some interesting pictures from Japan yesterday. They had been attending a big bash at the embassy - celebrating the birthday of King Charles but sis thinks it was also a trade promotion event as there were two cars on display in the grounds - an Aston Martin and a Jaguar. Possibly hoping to expand the Japanese market. They will be looking forward to today's match before moving on to New Zealand.

@Topbird, when you were describing your previous site I thought you were practising for Glastonbury so I'm glad that you seem to have found a drier location. A controversial decision last night will not have pleased the Dutch contigent.

                  Good morning all :coffee1:
                  Another bright sunny morning.
NDN got himself home about 9 last night. He came on the bus then walked through from the main road. I told him off … he seemed a bit shaky but said he was ok. Stitches around one eye which is covered with a patch. He said J has a fractured vertebra and is having a scan today. I’ve texted her to say we’ll try to keep an eye on T. Apparently her sister will be here today.

                    Morning all.

We are staying with SIL and BIL near Huddersfield. Had a good chat last night. Didn't sleep well, too hot, winter duvet on bed.

What a horrid shock for your neighbours @Dovefromabove. I hope she will be OK. We have nice neighbours too.

I know roughly where you are @Topbird, having driven that way several times. Dordogne is probably too hilly for your OH.

@Badly_Maintained you are a better gardener than you think, lovely flower photos.

We are going to a GC for lunch at a GC today. My neice znd her 2 children will meet us there.

Morning all. Took OH to the station this morning to go to an open day at her tennis club. When I got back I found “our” deer on the lawn. We haven’t seen her for a couple of weeks when she was very pregnant and we were wondering what had happened to her. She has obviously given birth so looking forward to seeing her kid(s) soon, they are probably hidden somewhere in the long grass.

Car needs a new exhaust section which I hope can be fitted today. We need the car tomorrow as both of us have MRI appointments in Guildford.

@Ladybird4 I have raided the ambassador’s drinks cabinet in our Tokyo embassy! - with his permission I should add to celebrate a successful event and dinner back in my working life.

                        Good Morning and happy weekend.

Didn’t have time to post yesterday as working so I think I’ve caught up with your news.

Having a recovery day today, maybe just nip to SM later. Window into my exciting life… chuffed to see my Agapanthus has 12 flower spikes shooting up! It was re-potted Spring ‘23 and it was a flower no-show last year.

                        Have a good day all.

                          Good morning all,

                          Thank-you for your kind words @Bluejayway , @Punkdoc , @Topbird , @Ladybird4 & @Busy-Lizzie .

Sorry to hear of the accident your next door neighbours had @Dovefromabove . Hopefully they will have a speedy recovery, the important thing is that they both survived.

Glad to hear your holiday is now going well for you @Topbird .

Woke at 4am, and feeling a bit lethargic this morning.

Best wishes to all, as always.

Settling in for more tennis now. Good news that one NDN is home @Dovefromabove and I, too, would had chided him to for coming home alone on the bus. I do hope his wife gets home soon as she will be worried - but glad you will be keeping an eye on him.
Have a lovely lunch with your relatives @Busy-Lizzie. Lots of catching up there I should imagine.
@steephill, it will be super if you manage to get some pictures of the little fawn/fawns. The Ambassador to Japan is a lady now and both sis and BIL seemed to be enjoying themselves there.
Have a restful afternoon @Badly_Maintained and hopefully you will be able to shake off the lethargy.
