That’s life, to some Farage is guilty of, to quote the Archbishop of Canterbury, “inexcusable pandering to people’s worries and prejudices, that is, giving legitimisation to racism”and “accentuating [people’s] fear for political gain” and to others he is a hero.

Never been a fan of the church, I always think meddling in politics should not be done by the self righteous.
Far too many covered up scandals and skeletons in their closet IMO.

There are lots of other, similar quotes around from those not in the clergy.Funnily enough though when he approached Enoch Powell to both support & stand for UKIP Powell apparently refused.

Farage is very useful to the wealthy elite as he deflects attention from them. The EU is to blame, migrants are to blame, etc. If he turned round and said actually most of the problems have been caused by the wealthy elite siphoning money out of society at an accelerated rate, I guarantee he would suddenly struggle to get any media coverage whatsoever and a character assassination job would begin. He won't point in the correct direction, of course. His aim is to divide, not unite ordinary folk against excessive wealth.

Sorry I just had to look this up, UKIP was formed in 1993 and Powel was around 80 yrs of age and diagnosed with Parkinson's 1992.

I'm not sure what any of this proves regarding Reform but I doubt an 80yr old, with an illness, would be wanting to get involved in anything political.

Let's talk about Angela Raynor and her Right to buy Council House. Labour greed, 'it's OK, I'm a socialist, I'm allowed to defraud the system as the system is oppressing me, it's the tories fault, whaaaaa'

The Archbishop is leader of the most hideous lying bunch of oppressive hypocrites in human history. Not sure he's worth listening to :blue thumb: The 'Church' has killed more people than Hitler :heehee:

@Banana Man, of course the Tories don't have a monopoly on greed, but, goodness me, many of them are absolute experts at milking their position and taking advantage of the lobbying system for their own gain, both when in power and after they have left office. Prime example - David Cameron.

I don't think Farage can blame the EU for much ( if that is what he is doing ) - after all, he spent many years as an MEP happily milking the expenses gravy train for what it was worth.

House building ? Little point without the necessary infrastructure and emplyment opportunities. It's also noticeable in these more modern times that "single occupancy" is required. More families divide, whether by divorce/separation and each person then requires appropriate accommodation - either for themselves alone or to begin a new relationship which may include children. Not often affordable for many and who actually determines "affordable" ? Politicians. Developers, Local Authorities ?? Whatever their claims, real life Social Housing is way down the agenda - if it even exists.

I believe someone mentioned Compulsory Euthanasia - presumably tongue in cheek or Adolf has come back to haunt us. What would be a much better idea is if any political party was willing to seriously discuss the issue of legalising Assisted Dying. A difficult subject but something that should be dealt with IMHO.

And yet they are still more qualified to run the country than Labour. :dunno:

                              I am a Superhero :imphrt:

People need to realise that ideology doesn't work in Government. It falls at the first difficult decision.

Everything is an economic decision, absolutely everything !

For example.... we need more money for Junior doctors as the 2.7 billion a year isn't enough. Cool.

We pay 4.3 billion a year housing immigrants in hotels.:dunno:

Do you want to pay for 91% young male immigrants living rent free in former publicly accessible hotels, or do you want to see the Young Doctors get paid what they're worth.

Ideology writes cheques it can't cash.

Leftists would call that racist, it's just economic priorities. And there's hundreds of examples of economic decisions which make policy decisions impossible every single day. And every single one of them will have someone somewhere crying or virtue signalling discrimination.

                              :dunno:
