He's built his entire political career on doing that. Without the EU to bash for decades up to 2019 (and intermittently since), he wouldn't be a household name or have any media coverage at all.

So, do you think the Tories should always be in power and there should not be general elections, @Banana Man?

I would recommend the book A Decade In Tory by Russell Jones. It goes through all the ways in which they failed the tax payer from 2010 onwards. The scale of incompetence and self-serving is quite breathtaking. It made me want to cry.

And yet Tony Blair and Bigot Woman Brown did even more damage before them.

Electing an inferior party to avoid a single party system isn't democracy, and it isn't what's best for the country.

All I read is what the tories have done wrong, how will Labour be better ? And I want policies, not just nondescript nuance socialist ideologies.

'Getting the tories out' isn't a policy, yet it's all the lefty virtue signallers seem to think you need to run a country.

I'm not sure Farage is blaming the EU in this election, he is just taking advantage of the fact that all the other parties are just saying more of the same.
Labour, "grow the economy" but how, "smash the gangs" but how? Scrap planning.

Conservatives, "we are over the worst", Yeah?

Greens, just cost us money on stupid schemes.

Lib dems, lessons on how to be a Boris lookalike.

I could understand the obsession with Farage if he was Trump in America and likely to win, but I dont think he will, so why is everyone so obsessed, its weird.

The public cost of change to a new party forming a government is huge. It's not worth it based on Labours weak manifesto, just because the sitting government are shyte.

A single party system is a dictatorship and soon descends into totalitarianism.

You are hearing about all the Tories have done wrong because they have made such a monumental ****-up of everything. (* - insert expletive of choice).

I agree, I did not realise how many households are actually singletons and it's not just in the UK. Oslo, Berlin, Paris and Sweden all have one thing in common, 50% of households are single occupancy due to the change on how we go about our lives. The trouble with such a high number of single occupancy, it increases the carbon footprint, making it difficult for governments to meet net zero.

I read an article yesterday and one person households are the biggest consumers of energy and land. They consume 38% more products, 42% more packaging, 55% more electric and 61% more gas compared to an individual in a four person household. I don't know how much of those figures are true, but even though I knew single occupancy households was on the increase, I did not realise about the carbon foot print issue that comes with single occupancy.

Yet, despite that, the elite (including the media) seem to have their knickers well and truly in a knot about him standing as an MP. Let's be honest, the party is likely to win between 5 and 7 seats at most, so why are they all going out of their way to attack and smear him? You'd think they would be more worried about reducing the impact of the parties with bigger numbers...

He may be useful to them, but he also isn't scared to say things that many people do think and feel. It is really easy to call those people "far right", but the reality is that as a society, globally, we have lurched quite heavily to the left in recent years... so what we are seeing now is not a rise of the "far right" it is the centre re-establishing itself. Those on the "extreme left" probably won't like it, but that is the way the cookie crumbles with politics.

I'd suggest that the incompetence and lying from BOTH Labour and the Tories over the decades is quite remarkable and enough to make all of us cry. We've had one or the other in charge for decades and between them they have made a pigs ear of just about everything, and doing much of it "for our own good"

He won't say anything about the problem of extreme wealth. So the distraction technique works in favour of the people who run the country via whichever politicians happen to be in "power". If he became a threat to them, he would be dropped from view immediately.

I'd agree both have been incompetent, using public money poorly, even frivolously. There ought to be long term accountability for politicians who squander millions on schemes and wheezes that are ill-thought through and doomed to fail. Instead, they stroll away with a peerage and their personal fortunes intact.

As I don't think much of any of the parties (I'm too polite to say what I think of them) I have made my decision on whom I shall vote for on the basis of how I think they will help the local community - and bearing in mind whether they have a chance of being elected.

I have now spoken personally to all the candidates that have any chance and made my decision upon my assessment of whether they are capable of pushing through what they wish to do.

Of course, my assessment may be a poor one but I shall only have myself to blame for that.

Well it's only fair to let the other team have a go occasionally and then we can have righty virtue signallers and a lefty government complaining about how biased the Radio 4 is.
Then in 5 years we can let the tories have another go, but I wouldn't bet on it unlike them.
