What's Looking Good In June 2024

Thanks @Mrs Hillard ,very kind of you to say so. It's the same model as the late Geoff Hamilton had at Barnsdale (although a bit smaller).
It's survived a house move and had to be levelled a few years ago, it's on a concrete base and was tilting a bit.
I've just realised it must be 37 years old at least !

 

It's the first time that I'm happy with my wildflower bed. This year's Phacelia has got a fantastic colour. I wasn't happy with the pale lilac last year.



This is part of the wildflower mix that I used. If somebody has got a name, I'm grateful :-)

I just had the question what it would look like without tree fern @Plantminded. What difference tree ferns can make.

Feels like summer is here finally , bit of a gap with spring flowers finishing and summer one not quite here yet.

Foxtail lilys are still here 3 flowers this year instead of 1


Bog garden starting to fill up , primula candelabra are finishing now they been brilliant flowered for 7 weeks or more .

Another bit of the garage site next to my GH , normally where the evicted plants go.

 

I have that problem too @Perki - some of the plants that would normally be flowering have been decimated by slugs though. Liatris and some of the clematis are the main ones.
Reliable old Etoile Violette is fine though, with loads of buds to come. The astrantia stinks, but it provides a good contrast


There's a snail on one of the leaves which I didn't see when I took the pic. Sigh....


There's also quite a few Clem. alp. Constance flowers/buds too. It's next to the EV and they intertwine.
Very odd. We rarely get much of a 2nd flush of those early clems anyway, as our season is shorter, but having them now is even more peculiar.

Two young red-legged partridges visited my garden today. This one was not that impressed with my Hosta. Maybe he was looking for a pear tree .

 

@Punkdoc your garden is beautiful, just everything I like in a garden.
