I don't think I would have bought that, it sounds disgusting.

Well, I don't buy this stuff either but we have both been quite poorly so had to trial something ready made. The quiche was actually quite ok, and ultraprocessed food is a known cure for most illnesses.

When I was ill as a kid, my Mum always bought a bottle of lemonade, a pack of filled biscuits and a comic book. When my Baby is ill, Gregg's sausage roll, chocolate eclair and a sudoku book work well. :dbgrtmb:

Well done :yay:. I hereby enrol you into the ranks of the advertisement police. :dbgrtmb:

I tend not to buy items that have such poor grammar. Not that I buy much that is prepacked :noidea:

I'm going out on a limb and going to suggest there's nothing incorrect in the grammar. You could add commas to separate but it's not strictly required.

I've had that quiche incidentally and it won't be happening again!

I am quite suspicious of the word "reformed" in any list of ingredients. :)

Doesn’t it mean ‘chopped up and put through a mincer before being squished together in a glutinous mass’? Not an inviting prospect .

Worse than that - it's all the bits spun off the carcass then smooshed back together and shaped. Very efficient but not exactly palatable

:wub2:Thank you @shiney , this will look good in my Finnish Language N;;i resume! Finnish language has strict rules of using commas, dividing words between rows and writing things as one word or not. English is much more flexible and forgiving, commas are sort of optional as long as the meaning of the sentence is clear.

My latest recreation at work (I'm with a global company who has various local websites) is to highlight to people that machine translations must be proof read by a native speaker.

A webshop recently gained quite a bit of publicity in Finland when they advertised for a dog chewing toy shaped as a cock (of a poultry meaning) and the translation gave a rather refreshing interpretation in describing the toy as a 47cm big cock using a very colloquial description of a "cock".

My moan is film on ready meals. Why does around 95% of it tear into shreds when you lift the corner or not even shift at all? How bloody hard is it to get right? :wallbanging:

It's not just on ready meals either. When wife buys prepacked meat, she tears at the film, and gets most off. But the tray is recyclable, where the film is not, and I have terrible trouble trying to get the rest off, before cleaning for the recycling bin.
                        Grr!!

Very many years ago I used to do proof reading for extra income. As I sleep for only a brief time every night, I was able to do the proof reading without it being detrimental to my health. It was amazing how many mistakes were made in draft manuscripts and even proofed ones. So I was the 'final' proof reader.

You would think that having done that job I would get the drafts of my own books correct but that wasn't the case . You tend to get blind spots for your own work! My editor used to make quite caustic comments when I made silly mistakes . He's a friend of mine :).

@Selleri - my husband conducts, and I sing in, a women's choir here in Ireland (called Satakieli) which sings contemporary folk-based music from Finland, mostly in Finnish. (We know how to pronounce the lyrics, but have to find translations. Google Translate comes up with some interesting suggestions...) (Yes, the choir is a bit "niche"...)

One of my husband's acquaintances in Finland - we go to the Tampere vocal festival every 2 years - is an excellent English speaker, who is employed by a music publisher to produce English translations of the Finnish lyrics. He couldn't understand why his use of the word "fog" instead of "mist", in a poem about a romantic encounter, caused us some amusement. We didn't mean to be rude, but the image of the loving couple trying to find each other in the fog wasn't quite what he intended to convey.
