@fairygirl I had G "Anne Folkard" in a different spot; drier, more sun and it really struggled, then a few years ago I replaced it with G "Mavis Simpson" and stuck the remnants of Anne in where it is now and the next year it took off scrambling and straggling all over with a lot of flowers. Mavis settled into the sunnier drier spot and is flowering nicely at the moment.

Yes- they're great plants for all sorts of sites. The common G. sanguineum grows everywhere round here, and that would suit me too, as it flowers for ages, and at the right time. I don't like pale pink, so it rules out quite a lot of plants!
I've had G. 'Anne Folkard' in sunny sites, and in raised areas as well as directly in the ground, but it's easier here due to the climate etc. I might get it again.
      More spending....:heehee:

We need an "envious" rating button. It is delightful and with envy to see all of the gorgeous gardens!
