@Ergates I am going without my glasses at the moment as I seem to see better without them, not good though for reading etc. I have enlarged the font on my laptop which helps a bit!
Very cool and cloudy today so i think it will be tennis watching this afternoon, even the colours on the tv look much better!!

        Good afternoon,

A bit grey here, and drizzle is forecast for later, but I hope they’ve got that wrong as I’m going to meet friends for lunch and a catch up shortly and I’d prefer it to stay dry.

My back is feeling a lot easier today, but still a bit niggly, so still being careful in case it goes again.

I can hardly believe we’ve reached July already - the year is whizzing past. We have a big change in the temperature from last week, I do hope that that wasn’t summer :fingers crossed:. Looking at the coming week, it looks very changeable and considerably cooler. Oh well, there’s nothing we can do about it, it’ll do what it wants to do, I suppose.

Our coffee morning on Saturday raised over £450 to go to the local food bank. To say the weather probably put visitors off, I think that was a good result.

Enjoy watching Wimbledon, those of you who follow it. It’s not something I’m interested in, but I know a lot of people are.

Good afternoon all. It's been raining quite heavily for much of the day but my computer is being kind and is telling me that it's mostly sunny.
Well done on the fundraising @Blue arbour.
I've done nothing about my cataracts since my assessment some months back, I guess I'm worried about them finding something else!
Now to read back, I think I have a lot to catch up on.

I thought this morning that I might, inadvertently, have slept through July, August and September and woken up in October!
Wimbledon is the one annual event that reminds me of my dear Gran. She was an avid follower. Not the same without her acerbic commentary!
I've given everything in the greenhouse a good watering and it'll look after itself for a while now. Given up on getting any ripe tomatoes for the foreseeable.
I spoke too soon about having a grandchild free week - can we pick GD up from school today? Of course we can. Luckily, the caravan is as close to their school (in the other direction) as home is. We'll pick up their dog on the way back and he and our 3 can have a jolly good run.

I can’t believe it but it was 30 years ago! It was Ivanisevic v Becker and Sampras v Martin (had to t’internet check).

                  Is that all!!??

Mind you, when I (try to) think what I was doing 30 years ago, it frightens me. Where has the time gone?

30 years ago my first husband was alive, my 4 children were still at home, my parents were alive, I was making a very big garden at my old French house, and my life wasn't the same as it is now.

Monday. Got to our airbnb last night without issues 10 hours on the road with lunch and dinner breaks add into that figure. it is what it is. Felt pretty ok upon arrival to lung needed stuff inside.
My cleaners know we are coming. 2nd time I have been challenged with a note from them----"We tried but can't get this stain out of this sheet", or the shower curtain. Mentally I say, OK, let an old expert show you how. (I know they want me to allow bleach, but I will not let that happen). So a good squirt of Oxyclean and Murphy's oil soap on the stains, a little scrubbing with the kitchen sponge, and magic happens, all gone. Both products are in the house. OH, its, we tried everything ---they say. LOL.

Rained here last night. cooler now. Off to do whatever. Take care.

Afternoon all, a mixture of sunshine and showers here, quite pleasant. I knew it would rain as soon as I got the hosepipes out! Expecting more rain on Wednesday hopefully. Not done anything very exciting again, usual walk, some paper filing and pottering in the garden. Tried to sweep the drive down but the wind just blew more leaves/rose petals all over the place so gave up.
Unfortunately as expected, we've been told the bed/mattress is out of guarantee just by six months so a visit to the furniture shop is next, thank goodness they have a sale on!

Enjoy the tennis all you tennis fans, although it's not for me.

                          That's some trip @redstar!

                          Enjoy your quiz night @Ladybird4

It's funny how life turns out @Busy-Lizzie, 30 years ago I was newly divorced, had bought my very own house and was having a ball. I would have been very surprised to be told then that 30 years later I would be very happily re-married again to a lovely man.
