I think we can pretty much report live. Murray is due to play tomorrow, if he can feel sensation in his legs!!! That's the latest I heard.

Tracy Austin does have an awful way of speaking if I remember correctly.

 

I remember when the Snoopy cartoon came out, of him pretending to be Tracy Austin.

 

My issue is she speaks an awful lot!

 

She always seemed to have a bigger racket than everyone else.

I think we might know for sure around 11 am when coverage starts. If he is dropping out, he would surely need to let the organisers know by the start of play today so they can ship in a replacement (which I hope will be Goffin, if someone is needed).

Good win for Harriet Dart in 2 sets, the second 6-0. Korda is engaged in an epic. Four sets so far, all decided on tie-breaks. That's as evenly matched as you can get, and in the days before tie-breaks, would likely have been fought for hrs and hrs over days

Not keen on watching matches under the roofs. It deadens the atmosphere somehow.

 

Great win for Boulter against a tricky opponent. Korda out in 5, which is quite a surprise. Brit Paul Jubb also out in 5, despite having been 2 sets to love up.

The sobering thing is, by the end of today (assuming all Round 1 matches get completed), half of the Singles players are out. All that training and preparation, getting your white kit together, getting to SW19 ... and for 64 men and women, it's over already! Ah well, the prize money probably helps cushion the blow ... and there's always the Doubles and Mixed to have a go at.

 

Goffin out! Lost in the 5th set match tiebreak (first to 10 points with a lead of 2). Unlucky!

Raducanu has had a much easier time against Mertens than I was expecting. 6-1 6-2.
