@Liriodendron , that indeed sounds just a bit on a niche side :heehee: Is there anywhere I could listen?

I must say that English language is very good at tripping us foreigners up. I'm regularly sewing my seeds and moving my lawn  and still can't for the love of my life pronounce "regulatory", which is rather a handicap in my profession. Keeps the audience attentive during my presentations though.

To quote the liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor
"In every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law."
Now somebody remind me why did the Boston Tea Party and The American Revolution take place and what was the purpose of the American Constitution.

I think the simple answer is that trump had something on the judges or they have gone power mad.

To ensure democracy. This now reverses the idea of democracy, providing any future president the ability to act outside the law, without any worry of being prosecuted. It effectively makes the US similar to North Korea.

The English language, moan of the day.

I am a customer of Lloyds Bank (no apostrophe) and was told some months ago that I would no longer be receiving paper statements in the post but would have to go online and wrestle with their new paperless system instead. (I ended up having to transcribe their online info with a pen onto paper in order to be able to make sense of it. Took me hours.) I gave up using my Lloyds card in order to save myself the hassle. Maybe a lot of old fogies did the same because…

Today, I got a letter in the post, telling me that I could now go online and ask for paper statements to be again sent to me at my home. Hooray!

I went to their website and, not without a little difficulty,I managed to get them to agree to do that. By return, I got an email from them saying

          IMG_5830.jpeg

PRODUCT? Product? Just what the hell does that mean? Do they mean account? Do they mean details? Product. It’s not MY product, in any case. It’s their product.

          Gawd.

Thinking about the 'rating' of 'Funny' I've just given your above post, @Tidemark ....could we possibly have a 'share your frustration' symbol added to the current ones? There's nothing there that really applies, because I didn't think a 'Like' or an 'Agree' or an 'Informative' etc. were suitable. Nor was 'Funny', but it was the best of a bad job!

            I share your frustration! :wallbanging:

Fair point, @shiney , but it doesn't quite cut the mustard somehow. Still, it'll do! ;)

I have a lot of accounts etc. now sent by post. You just have to press the right buttons with their staff.

BT wanted to charge me for sending me paper bills and said it was the only way I could have them on paper. They were adamant about it until I told them I was visually impaired and they said their large print bills for the visually impaired are free of charge. So I receive those and to the back of the large print one is the normal print one as well!

All my bank and credit card statements are paper ones and when they tell me that I can get them online and print them I tell them that I don't have a printer.

One of them was very helpful and said that if I download their app onto my phone I could then have their statements with me at all times. I thanked them for being so helpful and asked them if they would be able to provide me with a phone and lessons on how to use it. :roflol:

@Selleri 'We foreigners' if you really want to be insufferably pedantic. but most of us are more interested in what you have to say than the way you say it.
