Colour combos are quite personal aren’t they? I inherited someone’s love of bright pink… it’s not for me but I can’t remove a healthy plant. I love purples with fresh green - rather like the last pic from @CatDouch.

I am a bit of a sucker for orange / apricot / salmon any of them colours it tends to creep into the garden everywhere even when I am try to avoid it . I do like bold colours not so much the pastel colours or pinks but this year I adore my Rose Eustave vye which is very soft pink its been wonderful. Not a fan of lemony yellows with white.

I have currently good dappled shade in the morning and I seized the opportunity yesterday morning to grab the camera. The pictures below don't reflect the current condition of the garden. It looks all a bit tired in some parts like something is eating the plants on the ground.

That's a smashing harvest @Pete8 . Is that early for you or pretty standard?
              Enjoy those crumbles....;)

My autumn rasps are forming, which seems very early to me, but lots of things have been earlier due to the warm winter and spring. Berries forming on the Amelanchier already.
ANother vote for those purply reds @Bluejayway and I love @CatDouch 's dark red dahlia

Unlike my tomatoes, peppers etc, my soft fruits are ripening around the usual time @fairygirl.
Last year they were ready to start picking early July and I harvested 11.4Kg from Waldo - just imagine all those crumbles!!

My blackcurrants are almost all picked and I got just under 7Kg - last year I only got 4.5Kg
I've had about 250g so far from my early Patriot blueberry (very bland taste). That and the other 2 (mid and late season) bushes are laden this year.
I had my 1st autumn raspberry (Joan J) yesterday and have had some from my recently planted Malling Jewel raspbs.
I've not had a single strawberry yet as the slugs always get there first :(

I guess with all the cool weather my soft fruits are performing better than usual, where as toms and the like are all late.

Just send some this way please...

I know what you mean about strawberries. I gave up on them [ I don't even like them that much!] because they get eaten too easily. I always grew them when my girls were young, so I suppose it was just a habit. I'd rather have raspberries, so I bought some a year or so back. The summer ones didn't grow at all though, so I may have to look at a different variety. I might try the Malling Jewel one - and then I need to find the room for them. Sigh....

Rasps. suit our climate really well up here, so you're probably right about the weather being a big factor for yours this year.

My self sown Lucifer are stunning this year. They have grown to around 3/4ft tall and the flowers seem particularly vibrant. A long wet and windy winter seems to have suited it.
The rosa rugosa growing in the hedge is also doing well, smells wonderful as I walk past.

Re the bright pink. Like this @AuntyRach?
                            111_0464.JPG
It's a favourite of mine, and grows very easily. I got it originally for a container, to brighten up a darker area, but I've brought it with me to each garden I've had since. It's a real pick me up on a dull, damp day

I know many folk will hate it though - just as I hate those peely wally pink colours... :heehee:

For the translation [you're right @Plantminded! ] Wally isn't pronounced like 'wall' or 'ball'. It's like Dali, as in Salvador.
That 2nd bit was quite a posh explanation, wasn't it!

That is a vivid pink @fairygirl!

I don’t actually dislike it, but if I had to choose between that pink or a white one, for example, I’d go white.

Wow! I've just started some tayberries, loganberries and blackberries on a south facing fence at the bottom of my garden, I hope they do as well as that. Though if they do, I'm going to have to get a bigger freezer ...
