Just opened the front door and I’ll have to get the broom to brush up all the white rose petals blown down from my Rose Arch ! Oh well at least it’s dry . Cloudy, around 15c for the day.

Damp start here, and overcast. The rain's to start agian soon - we're in a little dry gap at the moment. O'night low was 11 degrees, [12 just now at approx. 7.50 am] and the predicted high is around 15. One forecast has it dry most of the day, which is at odds with it's own radar. That happens quite often though. Most of the f'casts have rain for most of the day, but the wind's dropped.

Yesterday was dry through the morning, with some sun as well, and the rain came in at 1 pm. The high was 18 due to that earlier mild, sunnier spell, but the strong, gusty winds will have knocked that back a bit. I timed my walk and my outdoor jobs to perfection - got everything put away and came in just as the rain started.

I couldn't cope with your temps @Victoria . It must be very draining.
How do you ever manage to do anything outside at all!

I don't! Actually, I get done what is needed in the morning, always back in by noon.

I planned and have a low-maintenance evergreen garden. There are not chores to be done daily and I have a professional gardener 2/3 times a year for pruning etc. I do not use have annuals, some of which I miss.

It is very draining but I could not cope with all the wet and cold weather. We are desperate for rain thought and in a severe drought situation. We probably won't see rain till October.

Total rainfall yesterday was 28mm, which makes it the joint wettest day so far this year, the other being 2nd January. It's much more useful to get rain at this time of year!

Today looks like being cloudy but mostly dry, and much the same for the rest of the week. Some of the forecasts have a few spots of rain here and there but it doesn't look as if it'll amount to anything much.

Having said that, there was a faint glimmer of sunshine just now, peeking through the clouds.

It's always about adapting to what you have isn't it @Victoria ? My garden was largely evergreens and lower maintenace plants, because I worked, and had children to look after, but it was only when I retired, I realised how low maintenance it was!
So many people are struggling because it's been so wet in many areas over here, but I'm used to that because it's the norm for the west of Scotland, not the higher temps and more frequent, longer dry spells we've been getting in spring/summer in the last few years. I had to do my daily walks at 5 or 6am and then had to stay inside when it was like that.

We had 15mm when I checked earlier @JennyJB, and it's off at the moment, but supposed to start soon. Certainly more useful to you just now, but, as you know, I'm always surprised at how dry your area is! It's when it's feast or famine with heat/rain that the problems are more apparent in a garden though, and many people are having trouble dealing with, and trying to adapt, their planting generally wherever possible. It can be an expensive process though.

It has stopped raining at last. Bright and sunny with plenty of clouds. Breezy. Still not very warm. Lit the log burner last night.

Watered what I had to and refilled the cats water bowls, now in as it is 24c ... and for whatever strange reason is 80% humidity ... and breezy.

It is 69f 19c and raining. Lovely free water and perfect timing. The gardens need it and I have work to do so I will be getting paid to stay inside anyway :dbgrtmb:
