But they weren't booing. They were chanting RUNE RUNE RUNE.
    Or so it appears.
    Good match though.

Cobblers. They might want to say that after the match but they'd already showed a couple of lads clearly booing and thinking it hilarious

      Jannick Sinner out. Medvedev through.
Exciting match, despite Sinner being unwell in the second set.

Is illness becoming normal, they never used to be ill or have many problems years ago, now they seem to get ill, need physio etc.
      Probably since covid.

The physio I get. The game has become intensely physical and only a few bodies are capable of taking that sort of punishment

I’ve missed today’s tennis so I’ll go to iPlayer but have a catch up later.

It's pretty much been an indoor tournament this yr.

Enjoyed Alcaraz v Paul. :dbgrtmb: Sinner looked terribly unwell, as though he had flu or something. Shame, cos he has a lovely grass court game. Kudos to him for not retiring during the match.

Salisbury and Watson won their Mixed Doubles. Because of rain backing up the timetable, 3rd sets are being dispensed with in favour of a first-to-10 tiebreaks. Does make for exciting tennis in close matches, with the score swinging this way and that. :yay:

I see Djokovic is on his 'nobody loves me' whine again. He's right, nobody does love him. He's a great tennis player without doubt, but rarely ever simply gives credit to his opponent if beaten. He only ever loses because he has a problem of some kind. His most recent complaint shows him for what he is. He said he knew they were calling out his opponent's name but still said that was them booing him.

I think feeling the crowd is for his opponent boosts him to play better. But feeling the crowd is actively against him hurts ... and I get that.

English tennis fans have a reputation across the world for being knowledgeable about the game and respectful towards all players. So maybe not getting that here hurts more than it would do in the US or France where it is normal for spectators to be boisterous and partisan even after the final ball has been played and a winner declared.

You don't have to like Djokovic to recognise his brilliance on the court and he has been a very thoughtful contributor to off-court discussion about where the sport should be headed.

I actually think he is usually very good at praising someone who has beaten him and giving credit where due, @KT53. Certainly better than Federer ever was at this.

Now de Minaur has dropped out. :yikes: He pulled up short on the very last point of his previous match and definitely looked like he had hurt something! What a shame. Gives Djokovic a walk-over. TBF, he probably would have won the match.

I was looking forward to that match. Djokovic gets another rest/practice day. Should they deduct money if a match isn’t played?? From either or both??

I didn't like Djokinich when he first became famous but he has grown on me, I think he is just a very focused person which can make him come over as slightly arrogant, but that is why he has been so successful.
I Still can't spell or pronounce his name.

 I think they'd have a fight on their hands trying to do that. Now, if you drop out after the draw has been made but before your first match, you still get paid as though you played it.
