I don't know what's wrong with this country any more. I read this and didn't know whether to scream or cry :mute:
Couple fined £1,200 for cleaning up rubbish outside their home

The local MP needs a word in his/her shell like. I'd vote for anyone who got stuck in and sorted out this kind of utter billhooks- properly.

That's crazy but about right with councils all over the UK.
During Covid I had to clean up discarded face masks in my front garden....and don't
get me started on the Dog s**t that litters our streets.

Can you still buy green ink?
The maths teacher at school always used green ink, nobody else was allowed to.

If that happened to me, I would get some one to print me off address labels with the names and addresses of the councillors, then after filling the cardboard boxes with waste, stick the labels on and dump it, see how they like it when the shoe is on the other foot.

I used to like Indian ink, we used that for technical drawing, I still have a small bottle but I think it dried up.
                    Nothing lasts these days.

Water companies! Oh poor them, Ofwat have been mean to them, boo hoo. They've delivered much less than promised and are weakly being held to account

"As a direct result, more housing will be blocked, the recovery of our rivers will be slower and we will fail to deal with the water shortages we know are coming," the spokesperson said.

Utter rubbish. They'll just continue to do a bad job and blame the regulator!

Well, they were running around my garden a few weeks ago as a water sample had shown high levels of lead. They dug a few holes to find the pipe run ( no accurate plans ? ) and then replaced the lead pipe with plastic. I wouldn't give them any prizes for relaying any turf tho
No doubt we still have some lead piping within the house ( old building and stone floors ) but they came back today to take another water sample so we await the results.
As with much of our infrastructure, it hasn't kept up with expanding population needs. Can't see it changing any time soon.

When we had the lead piping bypassed, some years ago, we had the new plastic pipe continued up our wall (there was a convenient internal corner that we boxed in afterwards) and into the loft and connected to our rising main pipe. This bypassed all the old lead pipes under the solid floors and our internal pipes had already been changed to copper. :blue thumb:
