No - if it was full of water, it would be a pond.

I think he was perfectly entitled to challenge those unelected EU bureaucrats, it was a cosy club and gravy train we taxpayers should never have had the misfortune to fund.

My experience with Farage as our Surrey MEP was good, he was a bull in a china shop but he got things done, contrary to that article I found he did actually engage with his constituency, listened and took action.

I lived in Belgium while Farage was an MEP and he was a gravy trainer par excellence, dining at Comme Chez Soi, a 3* restaurant with astonishing frequency and on expenses. He also had a very fancy apartment in a select, expensive area. All reported regularly in the English language press in Brussels but not so much by UK newspapers. He definitely bit the hand that fed him.

The more houses thing has just caused chaos on the roads around here, most mornings I'm hearing, during the school run it can take 30 min or more to cover two miles.

They keep building schools but all the parents moan because they cant get their kids in the one they want, it usually the one furthest away from where they live.:roflol:

No good building doctors surgeries if your not going to finance the GPs.
But didn't Labour announce that they were going to take money from hospitals to pay for more GPs:rolleyespink:
That sound like a good idea.

In fairness, I cannot think of anyone in an executive position that, whilst away from home and on expenses, doesn't make the most of expenses; equally, I cannot think of a single politician that is shy about spending taxpayers money either on themselves or making their life easier. Even Saint Starmer..

I think the money wasted on expenses by all MEPs was in the news fairly regularly at the time.
                  Travelling expenses etc.
Neil Kinnock and his missus was put in the frame at one point I think for ripping off the system.

Even the British MPs have been raked over the coals about it, remember the Duck house we bought one of the blood suckers.

There is what we should expect from our funded representatives (good behaviour and integrity), what we really expect (taking some advantage and having some human frailties) and completely taking the Mick. Farage is of the latter breed and had more, and fancier lunches and dinners than most MEPs, some of whom actually work hard to make the EU work for their constituents.

You are too kind. I would put them all in the latter category, but then I have very little respect for politicians of any variety.

There was a weekly English language magazine, motly aimed at Eurocrats and other business people lured to Brussels by the EU circus, NATO, various embassies to the Belgian govt, EU and NATO (UK had all three) plus European HQs of companies such as Coca-Cola, Exxon and other multinationals.

The doings of people like Farage featured regularly therein.

Did someone follow him round to see where he ate, did they also follow other MEPs, I can't see many of them going to McDonald's. Yet they missed the billions maybe trillions wasted on the Common Agricultural Policy encouraging farmers to produce food mountains that were dumped on the third world destroying their economies and ability to feed themselves.

It would be quicker to make the "little darlings" walk and better for them and accompanying parent.
