I'm embarassed to say I didn't even know they came from bulbs. The two plants I have were bought ready grown.

The first one I had was ready grown too - I bought it from a car boot sale for £1. So then when I spotted the bulbs I knew they were a good deal! Very easy to grow even in this year's weird weather. I don't ever seem to see them mentioned on the gardening programs.

Lots of lovely pics of your flowers! Keep posting...

Monarda x 'Melissa'. First time I grow this cultivar in the garden. Flowers display a rather dishevelled look, and only a few specimens display the characteristic "double-decker" look like this one. Unfortunately the foliage is covered in powdery mildew.

Hesperantha coccinea (former name Schizostylis coccinea). Totally erratic flowering behaviour; it flowers when it decides to do so.

I've had this Monarda cultivar in the garden, just for one year. Spectacular colour, but too "garish" to fit in my (more subdued) colour palette. Anyway, it disappeared of its own accord, and has been replaced with Monarda ‘Melissa’ (pic above).

Fuchsia Beacon Rosa a Swiss variation from 1972 of the 19th century cultivar, Beacon which is also lovely. Love the shape of the flower and this one is much more subtle in colour. The very faint red veining repays close inspection

Probably take the same shot every year. Oh well. Crocosmia 'Lucifer'

A self seeded hollyhock that is nowhere near any other hollyhock. Vibrant colour with the yellow pollen falling.
