    Morning all.

I've been to the hairdressers. Feel tidier.

I must pack, put clean bedding on our bed and prune the Chevy Chase Rambling rose today. Off to my sister in Sussex tomorrow, ferry to France on Thursday.

      Good afternoon good people.

      Thank-you for your kind words @Ladybird4 , @Liriodendron & @Penny_Forthem .

The forecast was correct, today seems to be the one dry and reasonably sunny day of the week. It makes a very pleasant change :) Forecast high: 20C.

Below is a two-master anchored off the coast which I saw on my walk on the coastal path this morning. It might not be the fastest or most beautiful vessel ever to hoist a sail, but it looks robust and would be a good sea boat in heavy weather.

      Have a pleasant afternoon folks.

Tuesday 8am here. still drinking coffee.
Rained a lot last night, more to rain today says forecast. So inside stuff.

Tomorrow a busy day, taking SUV for its yearly inspection. Then using a different car getting myself down to a little town to drop off some dried flower buds a creative group can use in their art at the Brandywine Art Museum. And then get lunch at a favorite spot of mine.

So---Back to the Peanut subject----wonder if you all ever heard of Boiled Peanuts. its a southern thing here in the states. They are seen in road side markets beginning around South Carolinas . The farmer harvested the peanuts , keeps them in their shells and actually boils them in water and salt for a certain amount of time. They are scoped out of the water and sold in brown bags. To me they are good, with a cold beer on the side a nice thing to munch on. Anyway, so recently at a restaurant in NC came across Boiled Peanut Hummus, ordered it, they used Pork Rinds as the dipper. It was lovely. Since then I looked up the recipe, will make it when I can get some boiled peanuts. Some stores sell them canned.

well have a grand day all.

Such a beautiful picture @Badly_Maintained, thank you for sharing it with us. Tell me, is that a coastline I can see on the horizon?

            Afternoon everyone.

I miss so much chat on here when I’m AWOL for my 12 hour shifts. Great to hear about everything from peanut butter to family outings.

I’m airing the house out today, as don’t often have the chance plus weather combo. I executed a military operation to encourage the cats into the kitchen/snug area so I could open windows elsewhere without fear of a feline windowsill escape. (I have scrams). I’ll bring some house plants outside for a watering next.

Hi everyone, I've been reading, not posting so much - no specific reason.

Peanuts - sorry, I never did like peanut butter vile stuff, horrible texture. Anyway, one GD has the MOST SEVERE allergy to them ( consultants words not mine) , completely banned in our house.

I sympathise @Allotment Boy Possum has a colleague at work who is allergic to almonds but not hazelnuts. Then there are the coeliacs who need to avoid cereals. There's one in our patchwork club whose stomach is a total mess with that and often has stays in hospital to be fed by tube.

Can't be easy for people with severe allergies and food intolerances

Phew, it's not as hot as Croatia @Ante1 but it's so nice to see the sun. I wish I were sailing on the yacht that @Badly_Maintained posted.
My tomatoes are actually beginning to ripen!
I had the most weird combo once, in Key West, I think. A kind of baguette with peanut butter, jelly (jam), banana and bacon. It was so weird, it prompted never to repeat that particular combo - ever. Or any part of it - ever!

Afternoon all. Don't worry @Penny_Forthem, today is quite fresh, only 31℃. If you want heat, you might pop in around end of the week.
I have an easy day. My seed parcel arrived, and that was all for today. Tomorrow must go to cottage and finish few things. Luckily I have time because it's all soaked from the rain yesterday.

@Penny_Forthem I have to confess that your description of the baguette and its filling(s) made me feel a bit nauseous. I wouldn't even eat that for a dare!

@Penny_Forthem that baguette sounds dreadful. Years ago I had a colleague come back from a stint in the States with a taste for with bacon, egg and American pancakes with marmalade. All on the same plate and forkful. Horrid.

Sunny here in the end. I've started sorting and moving pots for some TLC and also to gather them up for easier watering by OH while I'm away. He's just realised I'll be away 8 days. Just needs to think of all the steak, merguez, pizza, andouillettes and rank cheese he can scoff in my absence.

Hope everyone gets good weather tomorrow and easy driving for you @Busy-Lizzie

Evening everybody, it's been a busy few days so please forgive me not commenting much. Hope everyone's ailments, worries get better and trips away go according to plan.

My OH had his 2nd hip operation yesterday morning which went well. So well, they discharged him this afternoon so my nursing duties have begun! I'm a bit apprehensive but he seems fine and we know what to expect after his first op 2 years ago. He's got a bag full of pills to take and came home with two sticks, a picker-upper, very fetching dark green compression stockings and bright yellow non slip socks with rubber dots on.

I am rather hoping to fit in some gardening tomorrow in between my nursing duties.

So pleased to hear OH's hip op went well @lizzie27, I must admit I rather like the colour of his stockings, I'm sure i will only have the black ones again! I must remember to get a picker-upper next time around, that's one thing I really missed.
