Hmmmm.... we've had the odd complaint about this whilst other folks are not having any problems at all.

Can I ask if it is consistently so? Also, can I ask who your ISP is?

I called them a while back and they said they would look at it, then gave me some strange time, but I said I cant make that and can I just drop in when I'm passing, they said yes but there might be a wait.
Truth is I think I know the problem, its the bead seal, they dont use sealant, had the same problem at quikfit, they told me I needed to get all my wheels refurbished.

Interesting - somewhat oddly, my mum has just had a similar issue on her wee Honda, but it transpired to be that too much sealant had been used

There is quite a lot of research evidence suggesting artificial sweeteners are a problem for the human gut, changing the bacteria balance, and may be one of the factors fuelling obesity. Obviously, things like portion size and the consumption of soft drinks are also playing a big part.

Do we really need food items to have 18 months or 2 yrs of shelf life? I'd say not.

Of course, the problem for govs is world trade laws make it extremely difficult to do anything that dissuades consumers from making purchases, even if the products are damaging to human health when eaten frequently or in bulk. Govs can, and have, faced huge fines for trying to look out for citizens.

The place I went to is Halfords - they'd taken over the previous place, which may well have been National. The mobile service was dearer than going directly to them though, because I looked at that @Fat Controller. Halfords was great for minor stuff, but there's no longer an outlet within reasonable distance here, which is a pity.

Next time, I'll go back to the local place and just fob the guy off. It was always brilliant with the previous owners [family owned for years] and when the car is serviced [also a local firm] that's where they get the tyres done if needed. I just used to call in, and then wait, and it was never very long. I don't know if they have a booking system now though - would need to look. I certainly didn't do anythign different with daughter's car.
I can't really complain too much [apart from it being the best day of the week!] because I think those were the original tyres, so I've had my money's worth :heehee:

            I'm having similar issues.
But when accessing the site on my mobile phone.
The site isn't totally unusable - as confirmed by the fact that I'm posting this message.

Both sugar and artificial sweeteners are not good for you in quantity and too many things contain them.

Xylitol, usually extracted from birch or sweetcorn, is a natural sweetener that is low in sugars and good for diabetics - and looks just like sugar. Two warnings about it though, too much (more than a couple of ounces a day) can give you the runs or wind and it is dangerous to dogs.

Stevia is OK, made from a herb, but in this country you will see on the ingredients that it also tends to have artificial sweetener as a constituent with some of the brands having more artificial than stevia itself.

As with a lot of things, it is much better if you make your meals and nibbles yourself rather than buy them in ready made but in small quantities it is OK. Colas and other similar drinks should be avoided.

Xylitol was in the news recently. Something about damaging healthy bacteria in the mouth. Schools in Sweden give children a piece of Xylitol gum every day after lunch to clean their teeth. This may not actually be a good thing, especially as saliva swallowed will contain it.

Apart from harming stomach bacteria, studies have also shown ingesting artificial sweeteners can lead to people eating extra calories. The body recognises the sweet taste and expects fuel to create easy energy. The low calorie artificial sweeteners do not yield any energy so, confused, the body seeks another sweet hit of more useable sugar, leading to cravings.

Read a couple of things on Xylitol and erythritol, both used in food. Apparently both can increase the likelihood of blood platelets sticking together increasing the possibility of cardiovascular events.
Also saccharin and sucralose appear to have effects on glucose tolerance.

Taken in small amounts it apparently does no harm at all.

Quite possible. Xylitol and Stevia are not artificial sweeteners. :)

That has been shown as a possibility (not proven yet) if taken in more than moderate quantities but, as with most things, if taken in moderation it is thought to do less harm than sugar and, as mentioned above, no more than 2 ounces per day.

Two ounces is considerably more than I would recommend as I'm frugal with how much I use. Half a teaspoon in my morning porridge is my daily intake and one drop of liquid Stevia in my tea. Apart from that I have no use for sweet things and don't buy pre-prepared foods except when eating out as one of my hobbies is cooking.

Having said that, I shall use a little xylitol in the rhubarb that I have just picked :heehee: The plums and blackberries, also just picked, have sufficient natural sweetening. :blue thumb:

Site still fine for me. One thing I think worth a mention is the use of having more than one browser on your device. It might be a pain to swap, but it's handy to check out if it is the browser causing issues. I swap every couple of years, normally when hacked off with my current browser. Firefox would always be my first choice, but I've been using MS Edge for over 2 years now. Google I don't really like as a company and try to avoid, but will perhaps have it on a device to check against when having problems.

@shiney, I suspect most children in the UK, and probably most adults too, consume more than 50g of sugar and artificial sweeteners per day. The ratio between the two has slanted towards the artificial ones with the drive towards sugar-free products. To my mind, this is not progress, but swapping one problem for possibly multiple others, especially as ingestion is daily (often many times a day) for yrs and yrs. Artificial sweeteners are not some free pass, and may be far worse for health than sugar in the levels they are currently found in a huge number of supermarket products.

I'm sat moaning over the fact that we had some stupid, arrogant, ethically deficient people on our soccer team. This is not the Canuck way and I apologize for my country's soiling their part of yhe competition.

And talking about competitions, the hijacking of ladies cycling competitions by trans participants. One picture showed a gold winner, easily a foot taller than the rest on the podium, all smiles while wearing their tight shorts which clearly outlined their full and substantial set of equipment. The world has gone mad!

For me, something that can give you wind or the trots above what is a fairly small amount, suggests to me that the body is merely tolerating it to a point, and in reality it isn't good for you.

Sugar may well have it's downsides, but at least it doesn't do stuff like that.

Firefox used to be my go-to at one time, but I parted ways with it when it started to run really badly following an update. I confess, I knw use Chrome and don't have any issues.

I confess I was somewhat taken aback with some video footage of the Olympic torch yesterday (I will try and find it later if I can) - suffice to say, it really did feel as though it was being done deliberately, just to get a reaction.
